Of course I take note of prices of the items I buy. It's called fiscal responsibility. Most people do this. I'm not sure why you wouldn't. But hey, you do you.
... Prices of eggs DOWN 61% since Trump took over...

Default It’s National Egg Day, but don’t expect a dozen on discount just yet.

Thanks Fox. I know those retail prices remain high despite tbe gaslighting from some egg price deniers

Nevada switching back to cage-free on June 20th.

However. Of note, prices have only come down $1.37 per dozen on avg statewide. That means they're still relatively high.

Still higher than they were a year ago - when they were complaining and campaigning that they were too high. MAGA just keeps pretending it's cool to spend more to get less. Pathetic cult.

And Trump hasn't fixed the problem yet. It would take a dodgy galah to give him full credit for a half done job.

Correct. Egg prices are still higher now than they were under Biden. It's just a simple fact. I realize MAGA is allergic to facts, but holy hell. Wallets don't lie.

Wrong, tommy. Calling a lie a "fact" doesn't make it true.

Egg prices (retail, i.e. what your wallet pays at the grocer) are now LOWER than they were under Biden. That's just a simple fact.

Try to keep up. Have you noticed how I always provide RECEIPTS whenever I expose your lying?

Why are you and Mr. Gristle allergic to the FACTS?

Update highlights: May 26, 2025

Egg prices fall to pre-2025 levels: The average cost of a dozen eggs this week was $3.64 per dozen, down $0.65 in the last two weeks (-15%). In-store egg prices are now down 33.9% since reaching a high in March.

Retailers slashing egg prices: Retailers cut egg prices $0.67 per dozen on average, with some (like H-E-B) reducing prices by more than $1.00. Eggs at at Walmart and Aldi dipped below $3.00 per dozen for the first time since we started tracking egg prices.

Egg prices fall nationwide: Since May 12 (two weeks ago), egg prices dropped at all stores we analyzed.

Wrong. The same eggs I've been buying for years are currently $0.80 more than at any point under Biden. That is a fact. They are currently $5.39/dozen. Never paid more than $4.59 until trump came back.

Lie to yourself, if you must. My wallet tells me the truth. You're missing the point by saying you can find cheaper eggs somewhere (anywhere). It's never been about settling for the cheapest product for me. I want the eggs I want, and they are more expensive now than they were a year ago. I'm sorry if that doesn't fit your narrative.

Default Huh??

When did this absurdly long-running thread become limited to a discussion of your personal idiosyncratic preferences when shopping for eggs?

The thread title is "Eggs". The thread title is NOT "tommy156's favorite eggs".

When economists track egg prices, they look at national averages, not your personal brand. I've spoon-fed you the links and the data proving that US national average egg prices have come way down over the past 3 months, on both the wholesale and retail levels. Both wholesale and retail average egg prices are now lower than they were on the day Biden was sworn in. In the case of wholesale prices, they're off by a whopping 61% (as Salty noted in post #261). As I predicted, those steep declines are now flowing through to retail prices.

It's really sad that you can't open my links and read these FACTS. Instead you insist on citing your own personal, unsubstantiated, anecdotal experience to pretend my facts - the ones supported by smart people at Trading Economics and FinanceBuzz - are somehow "wrong".

C'mon tommy. Be a man. Stop fighting the truth. Embrace reality. For a change. Trust me, you'll feel liberated. As Jesus said "the truth shall set you free".

That's an awful lot of words to say "I'm wrong". The eggs I buy are more expensive than they were a year ago. Period. End of story.

I'm sorry you're having difficulty with this, but I'm not surprised.

We're not talking about the eggs YOU happen to fancy. And we're not talking about a YEAR ago.

We're talking about AVERAGE NATIONAL EGG PRICES. Both WHOLESALE and RETAIL. And we're comparing them with JANUARY 20, 2025, the day Joe Biden left office.

Both price levels (wholesale and retail) are way down. Period. End of story.

Why do want to keep this thread going? Just end it by saying - "I'm wrong, what I posted 3 months ago is no longer valid. Thank you Donald, and thank you Brooke, for rolling back Joe Biden's egg price disaster!"

Sorry you're having so much difficulty with this, but I'm trying to help you avoid further embarrassment.

Sorry, Lusty. Local retail prices help set national retail prices. And they're still higher than they were when JV was complaining about them being too high.
