Mata, I think he's good. He's got a 2012 Mac Pro up for bartering right now and has probably received some good offers for it.

offers yes, and from some very sweet ladies, but not many that are really my type. I'm a patient man though

As some of you know, I spent nearly two decades as a claims adjuster. I've already sent a PM to BP but the rest of you need to know this as well. Much of the ultimate cost of what happened is covered by your standard renters or homeowners insurance policy. Even if you are not the person who bought the policy or pays the premiums, there still may be coverage. I'm happy to lend my expertise free of charge to help BP or just about anyone caught in a situation like this. Getting your insurance company to cough up some of what you lost can help take the sting out of what happened.

I hear the faint rustling sound of possible hobby bucks re-emerging.

i know i'm just talking shit here, and i know it would be the dumbest thing i could do, but it makes me want to gather up a bunch of us from ECCIE and just kind of set up a web of bystanders so that if someone tries some shit, we can gang-pound the fuckers.

i'll volunteer to be the bait who walks alone thru the alley if y'all got my back!

That sucks blue whale dick.
Downtown is not as safe as it was and like some body already mentioned the tow truck drivers are running amuck. What they charge for towing your vehicle and to get it out of their lot is ridiculous.

Hope you are better soon.

Poet, quick question, while this may well out me, most know who I am...I have had 2 iPhones stolen in the last month at P10...not blaming anyone, my alchohol intake is admittadely a factor.

Not that I am a lush, I have learned not to take my cell phone in with me. That said I am out 1200 with no upgrades. Is it possible my homeowners policy could help me here. Not even on both, but even one? Losing an expensive phone sucks!

Let me know, beers on me at P10, just be sure I leave my phone in the car!!

I can answer that question (3 years as an allstate agent)

the most important thing to know is what your deductible is on your homeowners policy. If your deductible is under the amount of the loss then you can file a claim for theft of property, and you will receive the value of the property (as set by the claims adjuster) minus the amount of the deductible.

Most people now have a 1% or higher deductible, but many older policies still have a $500 flat deductible which would get you a good bit of cash back

BP is partially correct but his answer doesn't go far enough. Not his fault, as an agent he's trained different than he would have been as an adjuster. If I listed all of the things you need to know here, the post would cover most of the page. PM sent. If enough folks want all the gory details, I'll post them.
