I'm not sure our government is capable of using current technology to find any of us with pinpoint accuracy. It took the enormous resources of a number of departments of our government almost 10 years to find Bin Laden. In part this was because he didn't use a cell phone or the internet. I'm not very worried about being pursued by the authorities for anything I'm doing, but if I was worried about leaving behind corroborating evidence in the pursuit of a crime I would definitely turn off my cell phone and avoid using my computer.

When in doubt ..... use a hobby phone.

For at least 20 years the technology has been in place to remotely activate mobile phone devices, eavesdrop on conversations within hearing distance of the device, and "track" locations of the device as it moves about, with the necessary capability to identify the owner of the "account" used by the device, and capture the conversations on the device.

The "issue" is not "can" it is "will."

FYI, iOS 4.3.3 is now available to correct the location cache bug. Version 4.2.8 for Verizon iPhone users. Original iPhone and iPhone 3G users need not apply. Only iPads, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and latest generation iPod Touches apply.

There are no sharks in the water off Galveston Beach, and the water is fine, we dosed the Gulf with shark repellant to correct that inconvenient glitch.
