So David, your blaming you&me for women having no aa policies? Really? You&Me, you sure have a lot of power. First you get pictures of David's atf when he said you could not. Now your the reason women have nba policies. Wow, I am impressed with your persuasive power

First off to the OP unfortunately it sucks but to save yourself time you may want to sneak in a blurb about you being AA. I don't agree with, I'm not saying its right but I have been in the hobby for nearly 2 years and I would rather state my ethnicity upfront than to drive across dfw and get turned down at the door. Second please don't compare hobbying to the military, I'm currently deployed and I see no resemblance of hobbying over here what-so-ever.
.
I agree! Constantly stating that you're "risking your life for Americans" will not change the NBA policy providers have and hobbying and the military have no common denominator whatsoever. BTW...hi txboi

when ever I imitate contact with a lady via pm, I inform her right up front that I am an AA. then I state what i'm interested in........if she chooses to take it to the next step COOL. if not that's COOL also.

one day I was in chat exchanging some private barbs with a lady (whose mixed) then she asked me my skin color. wait for it... wait for it...she said, "sorry but I don't see AA's". And she doesn't chat with us also. go figure.

If we take each other's suggestions to the extremes of the spectrum we are sure to make the suggestion itself seem ridiculous.

Publicly posting NBA policy or not doesn't really affect me, and honestly I can only empathize so much.

It's in trying to change what we cannot change that ppl go crazy.

It's crazy to attempt to change what you cannot change.

There's a bunch of stereotypes against blacks. That's what cannot be changed IMHO.
Well, it seems that there's a good discussion going on. But of course some is "MISSING" the point. Yes, NBA is BS because I (personally) haven't done anything negatively that justifies not seeing me.

But the POINT that I was trying to make was that I was seeking the answer to "When did respect and professionalism get linked to skin tone?" That's the question. My main point was that regardless of your skin tone, you deserve a simple yes or no response, especially since you haven't done anything wrong and you've been a gentleman through the whole exchange of conversation. I still say that it SUCKS when you ask a direct question and can't get a direct answer, just because of your skin tone--Oh come on, now--Get Real!

And Muffin, I don't know you and probably never will cross your path, but I can surely say that I'm glad that your sense of "no change can be accomplished" wasn't accepted by the masses back in the 60's because if it had, then I'm almost certain that we would be in a Civil war today. To me, and my values, LIFE is the ever changing of events and new experiences daily. Based on your analogy, if something is wrong, then just let it stay wrong because it can't change. Well, I refuse to accept that sense of hopelessness. You can only do bad for so long, until good will get enough followers and strength to over power bad. And this NBA crap is exactly that... Crap... I can save your life (because we're all the same inside), but I can't be treated equally... Go Figure... And as far as the Private vs Public arena, wrong is wrong regardless. And this thing about "Oh it's a preference", is also a bunch of BS. Discrimination is discrimination... Google it...

But I've moved on, and yes there are providers that looks at a person's character (which really is the most important trait) and I've been fortunate enough to find them, and they have never had a bad experience with me in or out of the hobby because I see all of the ladies as doing a personal favor for us (me) and I appreciate it because in my career I don't get much time to interact, and the community allows that relaxation.

Well, on to the next chapter in my life. This one (for me, at least) is closed!!! You'll see no more responses from me on this particular thread.

since you are finished, I'll try to answer the question best I can.. knowing you won't dissect my reasoning later, LOL...

putting myself in the Provider's shoes.. "I assumed you were not black, we agreed on a session, everything was fine.. I found out you are black, and in that moment I realized I goofed.. I let the affair get too far (and if I'm Pimped out, there may be Hell to pay).. when you asked if your race was the reason I backed out, I didn't know what to say.. race is the reason, but it's easier for me to slip away and not say that.. what's in it for me to say 'no, I don't see black guys'? you would have been pissed.. you were a Gentlemen to that point, and I couldn't insult you.. it's easier to disappear and not have to stand up for my stance"...

That is what i was thinking too. This is like when your girlfriend or wife ask you if they are getting fat. There is no good answer if you are not a good liar so you try to change the subject or mumble something about forgetting something and get the hell out of there. If it's someone you don't know, it's easier to just not answer and discontinue communication instead of getting an earful or eyeful of drama.
