My only issue with talking on the phone is, my voice doesnt match with peoples sterotypes. I speak to a lady on the phone...then when we meet, she is.surprised because as I am told "youre black?!, you sounded white on the phone" I do not even respond anymore, just smile.and say are we ok.....

Absolutely - online personna has a lot to do with whether I initiate contact or not. Does she smile in her pics? Does she avoid online drama ? Does she represents herself well? Do I think we will laugh when together?

There are many options in the hobby for both, and I prefer to enjoy all the company of the ladies I choose to see.

Phone call a good fall back if unsure on either side, I just don't talk on the phone much at all. It has saved me in the past....if I'm waking you up with an "on the way" call at noon, I'm probably done and won't be contacting you again. Just my $.02
