Umm I was a waitress and I only made $2.50/hour when I claimed tips. Otherwise it was minimum wage. Basically, I had to legally make at least minimum wage every hour I was on the clock. So if I claimed $50 in tips on a 5 hour shift, then I'd only get $2.50/hr. If I didn't make any tips then I got paid minimum wage.

Btw I would be nice to the waitress if she wasn't a complete idiot. If the restaurant is near dead and there are 3 servers on staff then one of those fuckers can keep a fucking cup of water full
