Re. Kincaid's, I haven't been to the original off of Camp Bowie in years but I make it about once or twice a year to the new place across from Hulen Mall and I think they've lost it. It's not nearly what it used to be. I think Tommy's (the Green Oaks location) and Fred's just west of downtown have them beat.

Nice. I need to try some of these new ones. I made it through most of the list in 2009, though it took me most of the year.

I like how they are doing a NCAA bracket style tournament and did seeding by reputation.

I'll chime in on the Heart Attack Grill. What the Hell described it pretty well above. They do have water, btw. I was there on a mid-Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks ago. For that time of day, and being somewhat close to downtown, they were doing a very good business. Sat by the window and TGI Friday's across the street was doing nothing. The atmosphere is kinda 1950's diner. "Doctor" John, the owner, was in residence with his usual schtick, which if you haven't been exposed, is pretty good. Seems this is their second location and Dr. J likes Dallas so well that he's moving his headquarters here. They're to open another in Las Vegas later this year.
The nurses were cute as hell, and like WTH, I found 3 out of the 4 pretty damn hott. I actually liked the fries. A little thicker cut, about the size of my thumb. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The burgers are very tasty and the patties are 1/2 lb. So the quadruple bypass (4 stack) is 2 lbs. of beef. Mmm-Mmm. I'll go back again soon. I like the food, which is about as simple and basic as you can get, and the atmosphere is fun and playful. Did I mention that the nurses are hott?

Why anyone would willingly wait in line for more than 15 minutes in Dallas to get a 2nd rate fast-food burger is a tribute to the marketing dept. of In and Out. I had my first burger there a week ago and couldn't believe how boring it was.
There are at least 3 world-class burger places in Deep Ellum alone. If you've got the time and you've got the dime, don't settle for mediocre.

I tried In-N-Out yesterday, my review: meh. Nothing special about that burger. It was smaller than average, nothing noteworthy at all and the fries had some weird texture that was somewhere between mushy and airy. As far as fast food burgers go, Whataburger and Burger Street blow it out of the water. Bottom line is, it's all hype, no substance.

You know what's funny? I don't think In-N-Out ever marketed themselves. No In-N-Out commercials. No coupons. No ads.

Exactly Moo. It was all word of mouth. They aren't trying to be the next twisted root, just a better tasting alternative than McD, BK, Wendy's, Whataburger, Sonic, etc.
How many Whataburger commercials do you see everyday? And Sonic commercials (good lord fire their current marketing company).

agree, did you know the very first Sonic is right down the street from me. I worked some guys who got into Sonic in the mid 70's, wonder what they are worth now?
