I guess I am one of those that does not spell or know how to put proper grammar together sometimes, But like I've said before I know people that can and do correct people on there spelling and grammar but is so dumb they could not pour piss out of a boot with the directions on the heel.

First off we all have short comings, second this is not a book, and third just because you can spell does not mean you are intelligent, as for grammar I will give you a perfect example lawyers, senators, and congressman, make laws that the spelling may be correct but the grammar is so fucked up no body understands what they are trying to say.

Hobbyfun you make good points. I like the "so dumb they could not pour piss out of a boot."

I've been out of school for 35 years now. I don't have a job where writing is involved in my daily endeavors. Still when I communicate through e-mails or coming onto this site, I try to write properly. I certainly may not do so, but I try.

I have never attacked anyone for their spelling or grammar. A very few times I have noticed a provider ad where she misspells several words...noticeably ones in bold print. I will send her a very tactful PM letting her know, also saying how attractive she is, and that I'm not trying to be a smartass. Maybe I should just leave it alone, but I'm sincerely trying to help the lady. Why should it matter right? It's just a provider ad not a term paper.

Right or wrong, my original reply to this thread was mainly directed at the younger providers. Many times the lady is a hottie and has managed to get by on her looks. Providing becomes an easy way to make money and more than likely the money gets frittered away. Then what?

I've learned a lot on ASPD and ECCIE over the years. Surprisingly, writing better has been one of them. I've also noticed a few providers who have been here for a while improve in their communicative skills. I am impressed. Like I've said before, a lot of how one is perceived is how intelligently they communicate.

I answered this thread with this thought in mind. I'm thinking of the provider or young person that applies for a job and fills out the application using bad grammar and all tatted up (lol another thread). They may be the most qualified for the job, but may not even be granted an interview. Still most times the boss hires the one with the biggest tits and no gag reflex.

There's a difference, of course, between
  • Pouncing on posts to point out relatively minor spelling, grammar, or punctuation mistakes that do not seriously impede understanding
  • Commenting about posts where mistakes and/or confused explanation make it very difficult to comprehend
  • Responding to questions about whether improper spelling and punctuation bother us
The first is rude, and is often more about intentional/gratuitous cruelty than a preference for quality spelling, grammar, and punction. The second? Borderline, but one would think in extreme cases it could be helpful for the poster to know she or he can get a better response by clarifying and re-writing. As for the third, I usually don't volunteer, but I also don't consider it rude to respond if someone asks. That's just expressing a preference, not inherently more objectionable than saying "I prefer spinners" or "I prefer ladies over 30."

If the original poster wants us to not make those first-category rude comments about minor errors, OK, that's reasonable. Most of those commenting in this thread likely do that very rarely, if at all. If she wants us to not be bothered by improper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, as long as she has big tits and no gag reflex? Some people will say "yes," but expecting that of all of us would be very unreasonable in my opinion.

The written word here is often the first impression made, and first impressions are the most important.

To be honest, I am not interested in some 18 year old, whether she can write, speak, or use sign language properly. I am looking for a more mature lady to visit with. And as such, I am going to want her to be able to communicate with me on some level. If you know me, I ain't one to talk in big words, after two syllables, my tongue gets all twisted. (Allows for better daty as I untwist it. Try it sometimes.) But I like a lady who can carry on a good conversation, and really want more than big tits and the gag reflex is optional.

I find that the more I write, and the more I try to write properly, the better my writing is overall. With engineering proposals, few people expect us to be masters of the English language, but the better written proposals get a closer look, and maybe just get funded.

Every time a lady writes something here, she is making a proposal. Yes, we argue about a lady posting an "advertisement" in forums other than the ads, but it is truly a marketing opportunity. (I think some ladies understand this, and others have yet to grasp the significance of it.)

Will some guys not see a lady if her marketing plan lacks a certain intelligent component? Yes!

Will some guys refuse to see a lady who comes across as intelligent? My first reaction is not likely. If the gal has the looks or talents in the bed, if the price is right, location convenient, schedule accomodating, then I would doubt a lady will miss much business from guys who are overwhelmed by her intelligence.

We had a recent thread about tattoos, I kind of lump this into a similar category. Having a tattoo, might turn some guys off, not many guys are going to refuse to see you if you don't have a tattoo.

Showing a lack of intelligence might turn some guys off, not many guys are going to refuse to see you if you display a charm other than your sexy body.

Sweet.treat69, your post(s) show a level of intelligence. However, I don't think you yet grasp the marketing significance that needs to be placed on what you post. We each must sell ourselves everytime we interact with another. Treat your time here on this board as a chance to home your marketing skills for your next career. It will serve you well.

I'm pretty sure the demographic of the majority of the men on this site is as follows: over 40, experienced in the business world, college educated, have had to read many business reports, have read lots of novels in their time, etc. In other words, they simply come to expect a certain degree of legibility in everything they read. Its upsets their little worlds when they don't get it.

I agree with most of Tigercat's post, but I think a good formula is this. Guys will want to see a girl that is attractive and skilled. Guys will really want to see a woman that is attractive, skilled and has a good way with her mind, wit and keyboard.

For those of you guys that simply cannot stand bad grammar but want to see her anyway, may I suggest correcting her after the sex is over.

Hobbyfun - I think you are Safire Sweet. You have exactly the same spelling challenges. If you aren't the same person, you must have been in the same classroom with the same english teacher. Or you were smoking in the boy's room together. If I've got it wrong, please post a review. But let's ignore that for now. It's just my opinion.

The grammar that our legislators use is not fucked up. It is intentionally very precise so that it can be used in the courts. It is not written for USA Today.

Ladies in this case what you believe has no bearing on the truth. Not only does punctuation, grammar and spelling count, so does penmanship.

We all screw up sometimes (some of us daily.) To not care or be so flippant with your writing is just bad form.

The saying, "Maturity is when all your mirrors turn into windows." does apply here as well.

Besides, what does it harm to try a little harder?

Watching this as a third person is truly fascinating. I see the same thing you guys are seeing. Be gentle with her guys. She truly TRULY doesn't see what you are saying or her reply would be greatly altered from the current display.

Lust4xxxLife You are exactly what I am talking about. Your short coming is you type stuff and have no idea of what you are talking about.

I am not Safire Sweet and there are plenty of fine ladies on here that can attest to that, just because I don't write reviews you think I'm somebody else.

I'm not going to get in a pissing match with you because some people are so hard headed no matter what you try and tell them they just don't understand. If you would like to sit down over a beer and disguise this topic we would probably be there for weeks and you would still not get what I'm saying about spelling and grammar, you might have a college degree and I don't but I will match IQ points with you any day, IQ has to do with solving problems or understanding, NOT SPELLING
I deal with people every day that has Master degrees, and some with PHDs and they can sit down and write a letter and have no missed spell words but they call me from all over the United States for me to solve there problems on many, many subjects and like I said most college people, IE CEO, Presidents of fortune 500 companies

"COULD NOT POUR PISS OUT OF A BOOT WITH THE DIRECTIONS WRITTEN ON THE HEEL"

So don't come off saying just because somebody can not spell or has proper grammar that you or other people are smarter than they are.

I don't know Safire Sweet but I hope she reads this and tears your ass up, you problem is you start thinking and then start typing before you know the facts and Stupid just pours out of you.

Hobbyfun- I am curious as to why you choose not to write reviews. I'm not trying to be argumentative or critical, just asking.

Kind of on-topic and also pretty cool. Amazing what our brains can do.

It's not about people here not being able to understand what's posted... as the posted example demonstrates in a pretty cool way. It's more about what kind of impression the poster wants to make... a personal commercial. It's like 'mental hygiene'.

Cool. Will you name a couple or will a couple step forward?

I'm not out to persecute you or anyone else. It just seems really odd to me that your spelling and grammar 'fingerprint' is so consistently aligned with Safire Sweets. You make exactly the same persistent errors. 'Are' when it should be 'or', and things like that.

I have no skin in this game. I don't care about double handles or anything like that because I assume that many have them. I'd be just as happy to be wrong in this case... just not sure I am.

Btw... I haven't criticized you or anyone else on this board. I've expressed an opinion that was asked for, but I was pretty careful to keep it from being personal. Your last post was kind of aggressive: "I don't know Safire Sweet but I hope she reads this and tears your ass up, you problem is you start thinking and then start typing before you know the facts and Stupid just pours out of you."

I expressed an opinion. I could very well be wrong. I don't think I am. Enough said.

Since your so sure I'm Safire Sweets let's put you money were your mouth is, how about if I'm Safire Sweets I will give you two free sessions or $500.00 cash.

But if I'm not you give me $75.00 for ever lady that steps forward and that I have had a session with.

I figure the worst I can do is get you to pay for two sessions and maybe three OR four depending on the ladies.

At the very least you owe me an apologize until you know what your talking about and start accusing me of be somebody else.

I have a feeling L4L will not go that far.

Back on topic... I am in the minority here. I could care less whether you can spell or punctuate. I am here to find women who can satisy me in bed! Not that it takes much, but it is why I pay to play.

I don't visit for stimulating conversation on world topics. I could care less how you feel about local news unless it pertains to the hobby. I don't care how much you know about politics or religion. I care if you are a skilled practitioner in making me feel good while we are together.

Some of my best memories are of a lady who only spoke some sort of Russian and understood zero English. We had days of the best sex ever!

Stupid is as stupid does? My grandfather could neither read nor write but was the most sought after home builder in many parts of his home state. He was smart enough to know to make a living. He was also smart enough to insure that his children and grandchildren were educated though. Just saying....
