I don't know why anyone would post this unsupported theory. It shows anything can be claimed.

He didn't post a link, so how do you know it's "unsupported"?

An objective person would reserve judgment until the source/evidence can be evaluated.

He posted "I read a conspiracy theory".

Clearly unsupported, wouldn't you agree?

Yes. And those infected but "asymptomatic" people aren't included in the official case count. Because they experience no symptoms, they don't get tested for covid. Right now, the US "confirmed" case total is only 36.7 million, but even the CDC has admitted (since last January) the actual case total is probably 3 to 5 times that, or 110-180 million people.

Of course, this means we've been grossly overstating the covid fatality rate from Day 1.

I would say a PhD in something like social justice, gender studies or race theory from an elite university would most likely equate to DPST!!!!

However, a PhD in chemistry, or something like information technology, or anything actually useful probably doesn't incorporate political indoctrination into the curriculum.

However, US universities do force their students to take a series of useless general education courses that typically have absolutely nothing to do with their chosen major, which could include mandatory indoctrination. I went to a shit hole state college and the general studies classes I was forced to take were a complete waste of fucking time and money, but they did not include politics. However, that could have changed. These classes were like american history, english, psychology, speech, and some other random fucking shit people in other countries learn in high school. I actually forgot everything I learned in all those general classes, which proves they were of no use and a complete waste of time. I didn't forget everything I learned from my core classes, but I still don't really use any of it.

I'm currently working on my Masters. The notion of indoctrination is grossly overstated.. and yep-- still having to take some courses that seem like a colossal waste of time. My youngest is taking a year off before starting college because they're struggling with having to take classes that don't have much of anything to do with what they want out of their degree path.

I wouldn't go back to school unless someone paid me a descent amount of money to do so. Like, if it were possible to get a GAship that paid like 80k, which is not possible, so I'd never do it. It's more profitable to get a certification in AWS development, or something like that.

Actually, an 80k GAship is possible, if your job pays you to go to school, but that only happens in engineering or science jobs at defense contractors or national labs.

By calling it a "conspiracy theory" he does indicate he is skeptical. However, without seeing a source or an evaluation of the evidence, I have no basis either to embrace or reject his skepticism.

My point is especially good advice when it comes to what the Chinese are doing. Did you forget how the Wuhan lab leak hypothesis was initially condemned as a "conspiracy theory" (by top scientists, no less) until more & more of the evidence began pointing to its likelihood?

For what I want, the Masters is pretty much a necessity. Kiddo is leaning towards that AWS development path-- but a lot of employers still want you to have a degree in "something".. certified or not.

I am going the AWS development path. I have a masters in some random bullshit. I didn't even write a thesis or anything. I weaseled my way through that whole thing, but it goes on the resume. Whether it was worth it or not, I would say no, but whatever.

Without revealing too much-- that stupid piece of paper is the difference between me coming in at 55k and coming in at 92k . I'll deal with the extra bullshit for that.

Depends though. What do you get after 2 years experience at 55k?

Without the Masters and without the certification that requires I hold a Master's? About 60k. If I'm lucky.

Don't kid yourself... Marxist indoctrination is occurring in all degree fields now. Jesus, it's happening at the United States Service Academies... If it's happening there it's happening EVERY FCUKING WHERE.

I know half a dozen college professors in my personal life-- every last one of them is Republican. There are some degree fields where the majority is absolutely hard left... but that is not the norm across the board.
