I've done a lot more than 2 studio visits. I was going to AMPs for years before I realized the truth. So you're right, I'm being hypocritical. We're all bad people and we all deserve bad things to happen to us. The difference is that you will continue going to places where you know people are being trafficked. You will continue exploiting them knowing full well that they are not truly willing participants. I will not.

I quit AMPs in the oughts for much the same reason, and found myself going back this year despite my misgivings because the choices convenient to me have been limited. One thing I didn’t do during my long absence from the scene is cast stones at the guys who do frequent AMPs, mainly because the supposed “independent” scene is rife with abuse, too, and even someone as experienced as myself can’t always avoid those situations even if we try.
I think it is fair, however, to point out the fallacy of independence when the clues are there. I have done it, and will continue to do so, but I won’t demonize the guys who believe differently than I do. We all are guilty of turning a blind eye when it suits us, at least some of the time.

I hope I'm not naive but I've never gotten the sense that any of them were coerced. If they are in fact coerced then I'm on the side of the state busting them, unfortunately.
But the typical L1 subamp next to Kroger doesn't seem like that? Tell me if I'm just naive. I won't be able to go anymore if that's the case.

You’re naive if you think you can discern the truth because the speaker seems sincere.

You have to build a relationship and it takes time, they will ask you for help with somethings that they struggle with based on language. Then, you will start to peel the layers back and see the truth behind the scenes. I've mentioned this here before without wanting to expose them, but, if you knew how the sausage is made you'd probably lose your appetite.

I think it’s probably 50-50 if I was coerced into guessing. Just because you’ve become accepting of being green yellow red lighted doesn’t mean you’re OK with it. At the same time, I think some of these girls get into it and like it. I think they are an entrepreneur or some shit.

I agree with you here, some people here just have really loose conceptions of what the word coercion means. Is a middle aged fast food worker with no specialty skills coerced to work at McDonald's? Are fresh immigrants who drive for uber because they can't speak english well coerced into becoming rideshare drivers? They might have no better options than to perform these jobs that most of us would consider undesirable, but to conflate a whole complex dynamic of upbringing, education, skills, and personal decisions/circumstances with coercion by any one party is just grossly oversimplifying the issue. Massage workers fall into this bucket too; whether by incurring heavy debts that they chose to take out, needing money quickly to pay for medical expenses, or just being plain unwilling to work a grueling service job, all the massage workers I've been with have been consistent in their desire for money. On the bright side the most popular ones make enough money to put them solidly in the upper class, and many of them are able to eventually buy mansions and own large properties with the money they rapidly accumulate. It's not a career they can do forever though and many of them know this, which is why so many of them are always available when we call, because they know they need to earn as money as they can while they haven't gotten too old and unattractive. Think about any of the popular AMP girls reviewed here, like Jennifer, Amy, Yuki, or Shishi. How many days, if any, did they take off? Were they ever too tired or refused to see a customer?

Even the police don't think these women are trafficked, I think this settles the debate:
The police department opened an internal investigation; in interviews, officers said they could not find evidence of trafficking. Two mentioned luxury cars and homes that the women owned.
"We start looking at financial records and they're getting $10,000 a month," Capt. Casey Carter told Internal Affairs investigators. "They really were just entrepreneurial women that were making a lot of money doing illicit things."
"If they are being trafficked, it's a completely different way of being human trafficked," Sgt. Ezequiel Villalvazo said in his interview with investigators. "But that's not what we're seeing."
"It didn't take a genius to figure out that it's probably not human trafficking, right?" officer Wyatt Sparkman told investigators. "To this day sitting here, I don't believe it is human trafficking."
