She just won the Nobel Peace Prize. And you're rooting for her to fail too! Maybe we should award you a Warmonger Prize!

No, trump just "disqualified" her from running the country on live international TV.
Despite her receiving well over 60% of the vote in 2024, trump is deeming her a failure. I'm sure it has nothing to do with her, and not him, winning that Nobel, huh? So much for "election integrity".

No he didn’t. He was talking about Maduros PRESENT VP!!!!!! The Cumala Harris of Venezuela. Not Machado,
who actually won the last election. How many times have you been wrong in one thread?
“Yes, Trump is supporting María Corina Machado and the Venezuelan opposition following the capture of Nicolás Maduro, as he aims for a regime change in Venezuela. Machado has called for the military to recognize Edmundo González as the new president with Trump's backing.”

Stephen Miller proclaimed that Venezuelan oil is ours because American companies developed it.
Just like we did everywhere else.
Trump is an idiot, a thief and a traitor.
I guess that's what the "Donroe Doctrine" is all about.
Maybe if Maduro offers Trump some money, like the drug dealer from Honduras did...

She won the Nobel Prize over what he perceived as his "candidacy" for stopping 8.25 wars.
It has to be rigged.

Is anyone here concerned about the message we’re sending to the world? Trump’s overthrow of the Venezuelan government doesn’t appear to be any different than Putin’s attempt to control Ukraine, or China’s attempts to control Taiwan or Tibet.
The Trump administration has thrown out 75 years of the rule of law and world order and moved us back to the days when governments would create spheres of colonialist power.
I fear that this new foreign policy of the Trump administration will lead to more armed conflict not less.

" Is anyone here concerned about the message we’re sending to the world?"
No. The message is the USA is back and willing to whack people who don't agree with our national interests.
" The Trump administration has thrown out 75 years of the rule of law and world order and moved us back to the days when governments would create spheres of colonialist power."
That's never stopped being the case. And Russia is proving it in Ukraine, if you can take it it's yours, if you can't defend it you lose it. This has been the nature of humanity since we first stepped foot on Earth. It's never going to change, you can't change human nature. You can either be the tribe/nation/power that takes over or be taken over.
"I fear that this new foreign policy of the Trump administration will lead to more armed conflict not less."
This made the world a safer place. This kind of military precision proves what the US military is capable of doing when they decide to do it. This is making hostile nations, like Russia and China, go maybe we should stop fucking around before we find out.

Where have we done this, Yssup? Where have we seized all of another country's oil? That doesn't happen.
Here's the way it works: Oil companies go in and try to negotiate a deal with the host government. They compete with other international oil majors for concessions to develop a nation's oilfields. Once the fields are up & running, the bulk (over 90%) of the proceeds from selling the oil on world markets goes to the host country.
The US spent a lot of blood and treasure in Iraq, and what did we get for it? You may be surprised (and annoyed) to learn this, but today our naval forces protect Persian Gulf oil shipping lanes in part so China can safely haul away Iraqi oil!
Per the New York Times:
https://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/03/w...-oil-boom.html
Before Hugo Chavez took over in 1999, the country was producing up to 3.5 million bpd. Today it's down to around 900k bpd. That's just one example of what 36 years of Socialist mismanagement and incompetence have delivered for the people of Venezuela.

I find the whole event to be a fucking mess. No congressional approval, no notice to the gang of 8, no plan on what to do after they capture or killed Maduro and no way to guarantee that the next person in succession won't be worse. These despots, just like Trump, get drunk on power and money and make bad decisions. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if this is Trump's lynching of himself.
Those applauding the military can give us a break on that lane too. It was like midget league football vs the NFL when it comes to the US military being victorious. One doesn't need to applaud for such a defeat over unmatched parties.
And think about the message that this is sending to the rest of the world.
Is Xi gonna just plop over to Taiwan now?
Does this make the Russian annexing of Ukraine ok?
TACO Trumpo has just declared that as long as you invade a country for its resources, you're good to go. This is going to end badly and for many years to come. What a fucking shit show of moronic buffoons.

When did you join the JV always wrong club?
The Monroe Doctrine was articulated by President James Monroe in a message to Congress, but it was a unilateral declaration of U.S. policy rather than a law requiring congressional approval. Therefore, the president does not need Congress to enact the Monroe Doctrine, as it is a statement of foreign policy.

Bombing TF out of Hugo Chavez’s gravesite, was worth my Trump vote just on that alone.

Yep, I applauded Obama when he nailed that bastard Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad back in 2010.
But I guess it's asking way too much to expect anything like reciprocal support from liberal Dems.

I'm guessing you also pooh-poohed the 2010 Abbottabad mission to take out OBL, right? Or was that different because Obama was our C-in-C?
Listen - those Delta Force and Night Stalker Special Op guys performed splendidly. They went into a well-guarded fortress in Caracas and plucked Maduro and his wife out while suffering zero US casualties. What are the odds of that happening? Why can't you give them some fucking credit for doing a job neither of us is even remotely capable of?
At least I know how to be consistent. I applauded the guys who pulled off Zero Dark Thirty every bit as much as I salute the squads who captured Maduro. They are both amazing, regardless of who our POTUS is.
