Great news it's being renewed.

I have question I hope someone can answer. Why were Sons going to kill Opie a few seasons back - his wife was killed by mistake. That's when I first started watching, but can't remember.

Yes, that was the plan.

It was a set up by the FBI that Opie was becoming an informant. He was the one who was supposed to have been killed but the wife took the vehicle instead.

Then ... of course, by various means, the SONS found out that it was a set up and that Opie was innocent ... or rather, wasn't an informant and had been set up by the evil FBI lady.

Sorry that I don't remember the names, etc. I have a "garbage in garbage out" mentality with these shows unless I hear the name a lot!

You started watching the show at a really good time!
