I think that BP was referring to the atmosphere and attitude around here. When ECCIE started I was a lurker, and saw that it was fun, and informative, and I was surrounded by likeminded individuals. That day has come and gone. As long as you're barely toeing the line you're allowed to say and do what you want, hell some trample that line to death.

BTW, why is JAD the only mod to respond to this thread?

If you're expecting some change, I would not hold my breath if I were you.

You realize that you're not advocating any change right? How do you want them to raise the bar? What specific change do you want to see? Telling them that you "want us all to act like adults" isn't a change that is quantifiable, enforceable or not open to interpretation. I'm actually in favor of rule changes...I'm anxious to see you draft a rule that makes us all be nice all the time. Have at it. Give us your best new rule change.

Until then...you're just whining right?

And that "statistic" comes from where?

Over 60% of the ADULT population in the U.S, is over weight/obese... so your saying all of them feel how you feel about their own self? Ummm, no. I am certain, that the highest % of human population...thinks less of people like you and a few others here, than they do of my weight. Out side of this board, people like you have no voice.. or the balls to use it.

You guys can run with the weight remarks all you want on this board. Out side of it, your choice of words & expression of your opinions are not tolerated in any %!.

Lol, people with any mind of their own, with back bones, know that ya'll only have the voice here..

If speaking this way to any one on a keyboard is how you get through your day -- So be it, untill some thing changes here.. But.. atleast those of us you are targeting.. make damn good money.. don't have to bitch about prices, live comfortable lives, don't have to feel the need to put down others to boost their ego.. you see where I am going right?

For some one who has such a hate for large people... I would hate to see you on the streets looking on at those who live a happy life, while you secretly wonder why yours sucks so much..

Your focus on the letter of the rule reminds me of a seven-year-old boy riding in the back seat with his sister, holding his finger 1/4" from her face, shouting "I'm not touching her! I'm not touching her!" He thinks he's being clever when by following the letter of the rule while ignoring the spirit.

In reality, he's just being annoying and immature because he's not getting attention.

It's almost excusable when you're seven. But when you're an adult? Do you really need a nanny to spell out what the definition of civil behavior is? You seem like a reasonably bright guy. I hope I haven't overestimated you.

But back to your rules.

I don't know what the exact rules are on Eccie. Nor did I know precisely what they were on ASPD. And somehow I've managed to avoid being banned in either place. I've also travelled to foreign countries without studying their laws, and I've not been arrested. It's amazing what you can do when you don't live your life trying to impress your bros with your bad-assedness.

I'm pretty sure that both ASPD and Eccie had a rule about treating each other civilly. By definition it is open to interpretation - ASPD mods would point those who infracted, and issue vacations to those who couldn't comprehend the meaning of civil behavior.

(As I recall, your Wakeup account was banned on ASPD more than once, although I think you created new sock puppets to enable you to keep participating in another community that you didn't belong to.)

What's sad to me is that a rule like this needs to be explained to adults. But if your goal is to be a bad ass message board cowboy, I guess you've gotta keep that rebel persona going, doncha?

You are not going to stop them from saying what they are saying, and doing what they are doing. Ladies chances are the guys who are most critical to your business are NOT posting on these threads, but they are reading them. I know you are standing for a cause, but continued back and forth will have a negative impact on your business. To what extent is up to you.

You guys really should just say fuck 'em, for they do not make up a majority. Only a majority of those talking shit. Yes, it's annoying as hell, but most pests are.

I don't think this method will affect any change, because change comes through action rather than a bunch of squawking. Rather it can be used as a tool. Collect those posts and those threads that you feel are unduly offensive and blatantly against the rules, why, and what if anything you would like to see done. Email Chica Chaser (he's the admin here, great guy) and see if there's something he could do. If you think he's being unfair, unresponsive, or you're not satisfied, email the owners with your concerns.

If you don't think it's important enough to do this, or you are not willing to, then it couldn't be that important.

I thought we'd already discussed the fact that our interpretation of civility is different from others...

So you're not really advocating any change then BP? Why post this thread then?

P.S.-You do know that ASPD still exists right? Why not move over there?

Actually Ofs it's not a difficult decision to make at all. Depending on the severity and repetition of an offense every member receives warnings or infractions evenly. Now there have been numerous occasions where even the most seasoned member has made the most simple mistake and the staff has opted to not apply any disciplinary measures simply because we understand everyone fucks up, even us.

I think the perceptions you speak of stems from members feeling as if they are entitled to see any disciplinary action between the staff and the member on the receiving end, however that is not the case. Out of respect for our members regardless of who they are we will not disclose any specific action that we take upon any member. The staff is here to assist our members anyway we can not to start any wild fires.

Well LD the majority of the back and forth hostility is mostly people taking it upon themselves to deliver justice rather than use the RTM button and allow us to do our job, moreover the use of the RTM button is often discouraged by posters such as yourself for example:

This thread you started helps contribute to the aggressive attitude you feel has taken over, as you can see on that pole there was not an option for "I think we should use it to help combat the problem".

I can tell you all for a fact that every RTM we received is looked at. Not to undermine my colleagues in other cities, but Houston probably has the fastest response time when it comes to RTM's.

As for your last comment, JAD probably responded first because the rest of us were offline. Remember the staff is here on a voluntary basis so we aren't always online, we have jobs and lives outside the board yet despite of that we still do our best to assist our members in a timely fashion.

Fanfreakingtastic last post LD!! Top to bottom.....

And just as an FYI...... Chica is awesome.... As are JohnnyBax & Surfindick..... All of which are Admins here...... The problem at its core here is at some point people want someone to enforce their own morals, definitions of civility and ideology...... Again it is a slippery slope when you entrust a few with such power....... More to come shortly.......

JaD

P.S. LD.... I was the focus of thie thread is why I was so quick to respond.... I also have zero aprehensions or reservations in explaining my thoughts and views..... I am more than certain others will chime in when they feel the need....Edit: too late! There's Mojojo!! Lol

Rules:

"There once was a horse that couldn't be rode....
There once was a cowboy who couldn't be throwed"

Blowpop, it isn't about needing new or different rules.

It's about the attitude of the owners as enforced by the mods.

And as owners, they can do, or not do whateverthefuck they want.

Our old friend Hambone was pretty heavy-handed when it came to enforcing his version of civility. *The ASPD owner didn't overrule his decisions, very often. *And when that happened, Hambone would "reverse" his own decision, keeping face.

That version of civility encouraged more providers joining, which promoted the exchange of more information. *Allowing the chest thumping chess players to chase off visiting and new providers does something different, IMHO.

For the most part I don't post very often any more. *I enjoy the hobby, not the drama.
I appreciate the meaningful information that is available and don't see the need or value in posting idiotic comments like....I wouldn't pay that for a cbj, or I don't think she is worth her rate, or she is too fat, skinny, short, tall, ugly for me....because there is someone for everyone.

It is like reading reading a post and feeling compelled to call *the poster stupid or posting what they said was stupid.

Arguing with many of the guys on this Board is less than worthless.

There is a line from the old movie "War Games".... the only way to win the game is not to play at all.

now we are getting somewhere.

btw, mojo, you posted my thread. Thanks for that. Everything has a given context, and those whom that thread was directed towards names I am no longer allowed to mention. That being said, the RTM button has it's place, for gross and negligent content violations, not for useless (which is what the thread you linked was addressing).
