Well I appreciate your service and I hope everyone else here does. However I have to disagree with your assessment. Sure we can be effected our whole lives by words but sticks and stones reigns true and diamonds are formed under pressure. 
You gave a truly great sacrifice for our country. I would never compare to that, and to say having my Mom dying my whole life and finally after 14 years of care taking she did when I hit 23, or having an abusive father who both called me scum and abused me physically, or having my Mom almost die when I was 7 and while she was in ICU my grandmother and great grandmother died within 3 days of each other. Being poor, being overweight and made fun of. 
If I said my suffering compared to yours I should only be so lucky as to have it all happen again to me rather than to never face what you did. 
I am stronger because of it, in fact dare I say it I am tough as nails and can handle many a crazy situation as a result. 
Sad truth is that is a tiny bit of the crap I've been through but I'd do it again to be who I am today.
