I attended one or two of these long ago. They were hosted by a lady called Summer and her SO. Good M&Gs. I later got invited to others, but they're usually 6 or 7 p.m. on affairs and I can't do that. So I don't get invited anymore due to lack of attendance (I hope). Anyway, if anyone ever starts a lunchtime or early happy hour event, I'm in. If it's by invitation only and absolutely no overt activity is allowed, there shouldn't be too many problems. Hers ran very smoothly.

Yes! Summer and TheGiftedOne used to host luncheons in private rooms at restaurants. I loved those!
I've also attended some of the Saturday afternoon cocktails, evening functions (parties, poker night, most recently a Halloween party, three of Nicole Preston's going-away dinners), but the weekday luncheons were the best.

That's the one. Most of my dates for the next year or so I met at one of those luncheons.

It's either "how risk" or Elmer Fudd saying "high risk".

I notice a few gents/ladies, in this thread, who would like to attend meet/greets. Perhaps those of you who are like minded could organize a gathering of your own and invite those you already know. It's a beginning point to a possible successful venture.
There is a learning curve on finding a suitable location with privacy and security in mind for your guest.
Best of luck should you decide to take on this major task.

Elysa Scott is absolutely correct.
Tuscon, if you can't understand that snapping group pictures is a serious breach of security, then don't be surprised if you find yourself on the outside wanting to get in.
Had I seen you do that, I would not have hesitated in going Sonny Corleone on your camera because that's just all kinds of fuct.
Have you not read the rules?

well, sofa king, it does depend on whether or not he got signed model releases before taking photos :^)
seriously, if he got everyone's ok before taking photos, that should be kinda ok.
also, since when do "ECCIE Forum Guidelines" apply to fight clubs [M&Gs]??
and where did you find that rule "For the security of all involved - no camera action."?
i dont see the word "camera" in http://www.eccie.net/announcement.php?f=5

Pictures
There is no problem if there is a no picture policy than the camera stays home. Any picture that was taken was against a wall with no one in the back ground. A bunch of the pictures are of me with some one else with the ladies permission. The pictures are not for any one but me so no release is necessary.

tucson,
to be clear, the "model releases before taking photos" did have a smiley after it :^).
i figured folks might catch my humor.
in any event, if you had stated much earlier in this thread what sort of photos you took, then you might have avoided [but not guaranteed] some of the brickbrats tossed your way.
but, in general, as many have said, visual recording devices [cameras, video cameras, cell phones] are not a welcome sight at an event where everyone is supposed to be discreet.
be safe, be safe, be safe.
oh, and have a deliteful time!!!
