This last time I got caught for "racing" was in January and I was caught off 288 around Holmes Road … I’m not really sure where a lot of organized street racing happens now in days .. Over the years when I got in trouble it was: Park Row, Rankin Road, Highway 6/Westheimer Parkway Area, the I-10 and Eldridge area and on the feeders around the Beltway in the Missouri City area. Also lots of these tickets have taken place when I was racing down I-10 west of Katy or racing down 290 while I was going to Austin (they have a great street racing scene there).

So my TDL has actually been suspended since 2006 for habitual street racing and speeding … since then I have probably gotten at least 200 tickets and not once have I been taken to jail until January of this year so I surely had this coming. Luckily this will eat away the almost 15k in fines I have so I will finally be able to stroll into a DPS office and get my TDL back.

My other option was to take 2 years probation, pay all my fines I have gotten through the years, and I could NOT get ANY moving violations for 2 YEARS or I would go to jail … well we all know that isn’t going to happen (fuck I’ve already gotten 6 tickets and 1 warning just since January … lol) so my other option was 30 days, day-for-day so that was the best option for me. Thankfully the judge was kind enough to let me turn myself in after this semester ended since my case was resolved in March, right in the middle of the semester.

I am going to turn myself in with a few hundred dollars so I can by some stuff. I also have already made 100’s of copies of stuff I want to read and learn about so I am going to send them to myself … I have already addressed the envelopes to myself and will drop them in the mail the day I turn myself in that way in a few days, I will have tons of stuff to read and work on while I am in there.

I also plan on using the time to end my soda addiction. I drink at least 2 or 3 sodas a day and when I do try to quit, the headaches and overall discomfort are so bad that it keeps me in bed for days and I just don’t have the ability to lay around and do nothing while my body withdraws and detoxifies, so I figure these 30 days will be the only time in my life when I will have the ability to just lay on my ass for 30 days and do nothing, so something good might as well come from this …

I’d also like to Thank Griffin for the Cindy Crawford racing book I made a copy of that and will be sending it to myself

I even got some cool car stamps ...

If it hasn't already been said, you might want to look into the surcharge situation before you head over to DPS to get your dl back. Jail time typically doesn't count towards surcharges, but they do occasionally offer amnesty deals.

I nominate: Big Chiffon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg4Shtuu0U4

But seriously..Brooke, you sound almost relieved. Could it be that now you can get unstuck on stupid, retire from street racing before (I hope) you done killed somebody. I hope so...unlike 2 dogs I'd hate it if you killed yourowndamnself...but you own yourself, so that's your business. But if you emulsified somebody else who's just wandering around minding their own business....well, let's just say you'd better hope nobody like me would be one of your jurors. In fact, I'd have jailed your ass on the first offense if it was up to me. And I actually like you, what I know of you.

No offense, Brooke, but I can't resist: there's just something illogical about a street racer who's cbj only

Good luck to you darlin', and come outta there stronger and wiser....

Illegal street racing is dangerous for the people that are not in your vehicle.
Find a legal way to do it.
Baytown has a strip, Sealy has a strip and I ma sure there are many others where you can sign up to legally race.
If you want to road race there are tracks near Houston where you can do that too.

Nobody really gives a fuck if you off yourself but when you cause another's death it will be far more serious.
Yeah why would you ever want to engage in something illegal that could land you in jail. I mean really to sneak around hiding an activity from almost everyone you know. Having to verify those around you are "legit" and not undercover cops or some really dangerous criminal element that just wants to take your prized asset away from you and have them take ownership of it.

Meeting up in secret only sharing the exact location the day of. Knowing the other guy will try yo rear end you first chance he gets. Hoping you can blow his head gasket before you reach the finish line.

Yeah you need to quit that dangerous street racing and stick to something wholesome like the hobby. Wait a minute.....

Well which ever you decide to do best of luck. As they say in office space "watch your corn whole dude"

Nice try, but an extremely poor analogy. I've yet to see the jaws of life taken to a car to squeeze victims out due to meeting at Mr. Patels and having a 'date'.

You're reaching for cute and pithy but could only manage pathetic.

Legal or illegal is not the issue. We have stacks of stupid laws; it's all but impossible to get through a day without inadvertantly violating a law or ten.

The issue is selfish and reckless disregard for the lives of random strangers. What's so hard about that?

Parody not analogy
But if you want to list tit for tat on danger I have never seen Jack the Ripper, The Green River Strangler, Ted Bundy, the Boston Strangler, Craig's list killer, etc st s street race.

I have never met Brooke or have gone street racing. So I could wrong but I would bet that at least some of the fun is that it is illegal. Remember how sneaking a smoke behind the gym wasn't as fun when you got out of junior high. Sneaking off to dink beer in the woods wasn't so much fun when you got out of high school.

To me the comments are like a non-hobbyist telling s married hobbyist not to hobby Because you can ruin the lives of your entire family. If you want to have sex go home to your wife. Might be true but not looking to hear a sermon when I come here

If you have a need for speed just take up speedboat racing. Toys are a lot more expensive though...

I'm sure someone, family, will care, but this is an addiction losing your TDL didn't phase. Addicts usually have to hit rock bottom before they get help. You're going to jail and you're worried about your soda addiction and happy to get a license again! It sounds like you're bragging about it. Will it take an accident leaving you, or another disabled, vehicular homicide, or death to end your addiction/obsession? You're playing Russian roulette with a car and when it goes off you're more than likely to take someone else out.

You go around endangering people's lives who are on the road trying to get to and from work, school, doctor's visits, etc. You then get sentenced to jail time. And you have the nerve to get on here and brag about it like you're proud of yourself that you're only doing 30 days?!!

I wish they would've given you at least 6 months. Inconsiderate garbage like you need to kept away from society.

And a soda addiction, seriously? How lame is that? What makes you think anybody here gives a sh*t if you're gone for 30 days or 30 years?
