Ripped off by a provider

I agree with Pete in the sense that, in order for it to continue, it's important for the Newbie Friendly List to be open to all Verified Providers who are newbie friendly not just those with stellar reputations.

It's a tricky thing sometimes being the person who has to make those choices and runs the risk of appearing to be less than objective and even-handed. Anytime a moderator, or in this case a person who runs the list, makes a decision it is always open to scrutiny by the membership. In order to maintain credibility there must be as objective, transparent, and fair-minded approach taken as possible.

Selectively removing people from the list is, in my opinion, outside the scope of Fancy's initial goal of merely maintaining a list of Newbie Friendly Girls and takes it into moderator territory.

That said, there is precedent for removing a provider's Verified Provider status if it's determined that a cash and dash has taken place, in which case she obviously no longer qualifies for the list to begin with. If more information on this topic exists please contact me or another moderator and we will make a determination as to how to proceed.

I have NO desire to ever be a mod for this site, believe me, for a litany of reasons, However I do like to be helpful when I can and when I see a need, which there was for the HNFPL.

I made my case in my previous post, but if it is deemed that I have not been monitoring the HNFPL responsibly and fairly, I will be happy to step off. It takes a lot of time that I could better devote to my own business.

However, shutting it down completely will, again I say, just hurt new fellows looking for lust, so someone should keep it up. There is no doubt of its popularity.

You're right Fancy, we do not endorse and have not had to moderate that thread yet, you've done a fantastic job putting it together and cracking the whip on the participants. Clearly it's a huge success as evidenced by the view counts, and much of that is due to your efforts. I'm sure the guys AND the newbie friendly ladies appreciate it.

Whether you choose to continue is solely up to you of course. My only point was that, for the purposes of that thread, you ARE the moderator and therefore every choice you make is subject to scrutiny and criticism. According to the stated goals at the outset and, therefore from the mods' perspective, that thread was to be a spot to aggregate the names and contact info of the VPs who are newbie friendly (however you choose to define that, ex. Reference friendly, alternate screening, etc.).

By extending the criteria from not only newbie friendly to "also has a stellar reputation" it infuses what could be perceived as an element of unfair subjectivity into the mix. It's not about whether you are or are not objective. I have no doubt that you really are trying to be. It's a matter of optics, perception is reality sometimes.

As I said before though, Eccie will not abide VPs who cash and dash or rob or otherwise represent a security threat to the members. Such things are grounds for losing VP status, which automatically eliminates them from qualifying for your list. So you see, there is already a protocol in place for handling this issue. If it is deemed insufficient for removal of her VP status she should, in my opinion, likewise not be removed from the list.

I would like to add that before I ever post this thread, I contacted a mod here to let him know what had happened. He responded recommending I post a thread about it. I was reluctant at first because I didn't want to be shamed that I was an old fool. Who wants to embarrass themselves? I do understand the need to be objective and I agree on that stance for fairness. I would gladly take anyone my phone so you can see her texts and my call log.

Arguably, nobody on ECCIE has an unquestionably "stellar" reputation, as someone will always have something negative to say about somebody. One of the problems, as I stated previously, it that allowing ladies to stay on the list who are not trusted negates part of the effectiveness of the providers on it for references purposes, but I understand the concept of innocent until proven guilty.

Also, following the line of reasoning that has been inferred, now ANY provider who just says that she is newbie-friendly has the right to be on the HNFPL whether she follows the stated guidelines in the thread or not. How do I control and regulate it under those circumstances?

However, all of this is premature; I never said that I was going to do anything until Phoenix was given a chance to respond, so all of this discussion of my overstepping, and even mentioning the possible closure of the HNFPL sticky, was completely unnecessary.

Are the mods looking for a reason to shut it down?

No Fancy of course not, exactly the opposite in fact. As I said , from my perspective, you're doing a fantastic job and it's been a success thus far. We're just talking here that's all.

I've already stated my opinion that you're the one who defines the Newbie Friendly criteria as far as whether they actually are or not. Additionally I've provided a mechanism whereby truly disreputable persons could indisputably be removed.

All this drama over $120.00. Geesh the OP just posted a warning about this provider and she somehow managed to text him that she had been attacked, so I find it hard to believe that she could sign on, but not respond on this thread.

Leave her on the newbie friendly list and let her continue ripping off newbies and blaming AA thugs for it, smh. This all is just ridiculous. Saying the newbie friendly list is an ad tool is way off too, because several guys already commented that they wouldn't see anyone on that list because they didn't screen, which could not be further from the truth. Also, it's a lot more work & risk to try to screen a newbie in the absence of reviews or ladies willing to vouch for them. If Fancy is not allowed to remove people from the list who she feels are a possible threat to newbies, then I personally would like to be removed from it, because I think everyone here would agree that Fancy is a very fair and valuable member of this community & when it started, the MODS put it in her hands and wanted nothing to do with it.

When I read these alerts, I look at the OP and the facts stated and then I decide based on those whether or not I want to believe it. I don't care if the bad guy/girl is black, white, or purple. I really hate it when people turn a thread like this into a racial issue. In my opinion the OP was just stating the facts as texted to him, it's up to you whether or not you want to people she is a danger or you want to believe her story...why drag race in to it time after time.

Sorry, Fancy. But Eccie does search it. I put in "newbie friendly "and got 71 pages of ads at 25 per page.

Now, your thread is more compact and easier to search. Of course then you have to go to each showcase.

But I am not trying to kill your thread. I probably could have done that just by closing it. But there has to be the level field, as I said above. Just because she does not answer your summons does not mean she was lying. Or telling the truth.

And I have no dog in this hunt, since I am not local. Not being local makes me look at things different.
