The cost of gas is not going to return to the "good old days" for the simple reason that state & local sales tax, state excise tax, federal excise tax and most importantly prevailing wages are significantly higher now...unless you wanna go back to paying gas station attendants 3.75/hr and truck drivers 6.50/hr and the chemical engineers & other technicians at the refineries 35k a year. Acetylene can not be compressed beyond 29 psig, as it begins to undergo explosive decomposition. Most of the acetylene tanks used for welding have acetylene dissolved in acetone which is absorbed to porous media filling the tank.
