How effective are provider ads and how do hobbyist select a provider?

As you can tell from my minimalist ads, that I really don't like to post them. It brings in a wave of PMs asking are you avail now? do you do this or that? And my answering no I'm not available right this moment (and even if I were, I have no idea who you are) and I am not going to discuss such topics one way or the other. It doesn't seem to yield any benefit for anyone. When someone sees my profiles on p411 or the showcase and contacts me to see if I am available xyz future date it just seems to go so much smoother. Of course those are the guys that typically lurk and don't post reviews.
