I was referring to the election coverage being favorable towards Obama by most news media. Being fiscally conservative you can't be too happy with Obama. I agree the media can be quite inept at times.

Don't think that politician exists, republican or democrat. I don't trust either party.

You think the military makes me sleep better at night. 2 friendly neighbors and 2 oceans have more to do with my sleep than anything the military does. Moreover you assume that the we couldn't spend our defense dollars in a more wise way.
The biggest tax burdens come from social security, medicare and medicaid. And it's about to get worse when all the baby boomers start retiring. Neither party has a plan for that and I don't think they really care. You could cut defense spending in half and it wouldn't help a whole lot. I don't have a problem with cutting back on defense spending but what makes you think that money will be spent more wisely somewhere else. Smart spending and government don't usually go hand in hand. This country is in a fiscal nightmare and both parties have a hand in it.

You need to add all of the welfare.

Everything we give to those poor people that dont work.
The poor farmers that cant make it on what they grow, The Unions we support blah blah blah

As far as what makes you sleep at night someone out there is protecting you. You just dont know it.
Of course I am speaking to a wall as always.

Dont worry though, no matter how you feel, I got your six.

As far as the mess over there now, go speak with the people and then get back to me.
Until then, stop bitching about what you see on CNN.

Social security and medicare are not welfare. There a specific deductions from your paycheck for those, therefore they can be made solvent through benefit cuts and/or tax increases. No politician wants to be the one who increases the retirement age or slash medicare. So those problems will most likely linger until they become too big to ignore anymore.
Smart spending doesn't happen because we don't DEMAND it as voters. We don't give 3rd party candidates enough attention and are left with the choice, as Ralph Nader would say, between Coke and Pepsi. We let lobbyists run Washington. One of the biggest things a citizen can do is pay attention to local elections, go to your local counsel meetings or school board meetings and challenge them on their spending and policies, yet very few do attend.

Bush (and his tutor Cheney) was the worst president in all of US history. These 2 are the reason the US is in the sorry shape we are in. Republicans said from Day 1 they were out to make Obama a one term president and have worked since day 1 to obstruct everything Obama tried to do to fix the disaster they handed him! Now the GOP says it's time to replace Obama because he hasn't fixed the mess we handed him!

WOW, you have quite a LIBERAL view of welfare. Still haven't given me a number. You did forget about all the tax breaks given to businesses, price supports to farmers and guaranteed profit margins to defense contractors.
I have a much greater chance of being harmed by an"urban terrorist"(robber) than I do from an taliban terrorist.I'd sleep a lot better at night,if we legalized prohibited substances and got rid of the violent crime it produces and let the police spent there time dealing with other matters. So next time I go out in Buffalo, I'll call you and you can "get my six", whatever that means, and you can protect me.

No, I've been railing against the debt/deficit since the time of reagan. Imagine how much less our problems would be if Bush hadn't blown up the budget and left an absolute mess of the country. Taking $250 billion surpluses and turning them into trillion dollar deficits. ( the last Bush Budget, ending sept. 2009, had a deficit of 1.2 trillion).

Your post in entertaining.
Numbers you can look up. I am sure you have time.

Oh, protecting against terrorist is a bit more than about you but I know your kind and mindset.

Police are report takers for after the crime, thats all.

I dont care for the war on drugs either nor do i agree with it.

People on welfare should get a job.
Farmers that need help should get out of farming

I am sure you sleep just fine.
