Well you do have a point. Debt is a form of slavery and Americas economy is based on debt. So in a matter of speaking we are all slaves to some extent. But on the flip side we have the freedom to deliver ourselves from our debt. We also have a God given right to protect ourselves and the Second Amendment allows all of us to do that through the right to keep and bear firearms.

I'm all for the 2nd Amendment. I'm one of the few that wish all were subject tp mandatory Military service and guns were easier to obtain. If you're not in prison, you are eligible to vote and possess a firearm.

Personally I think the debt both current and future are our biggest threats.

America probably would have mandatory Military service if we were constantly at threat. Take Israel for instance they require mandatory a minimum of two years Military service for both men and women. A tiny strip of land inhabited by eight million people surrounded by enemies and the threat of conflict is always hanging in the balance. One reason why America isn't constantly being invaded by hostile foes is not only do we have a strong Military but our citizens are armed.

There is something called the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean that is probably more responsible for the country not being invaded.

Some will argue that Mexico is invading us as we speak!

Well large bodies of water can be an obstacle but it's never stopped America from setting boots on the ground overseas.

Yea but staying in an occupied country that does not want us there has been problematic...

Most empires rot from within when trying to do so. We will be no different if we keep spending more on occupations than we take in.

That's absolutely true. For Christ's sake America has about 800 Military bases in over seventy countries that's ridiculous.

We will never reduce our debt until we reduce military spending and cut our costs of healthcare. Why we spend so damn much on the last six months of our elderly's life is stupid unless you are in the old age health care business.
