Ok so all we need now is for Old Sarge to chime in with the date, time and location. I will definitely be there on what ever date is decided. I have been to three socials so far and have had a great time at all three. Is it safe to assume that any Eccie member that wants to come to this is invited? These events are a great way to meet members that I may have interacted with on here but not yet had an opportunity to meet in person. So far they have all been a fun, relaxed, no pressure, social environment that's perfect for mingling and getting to know members. I have no doubt this one will be no exception. I believe our group is one of the coolest, friendliest and most laid back on here. Love you guys and I am looking forward to seeing all of ya'll there. I can't wait...oh and btw I love lollipops, tube steaks and buns. S'mores for dessert too...hell yeah lol !!!!!

MONDAY, 17 FEBRUARY 2014, from 4:30 to 8:30 PM
"Petered out"? What would Freud say? LOL (Hopefully, there won't be joke or uncomfortable comment about be being under Sterling after his "peter" comment)
Ok, looks like we cannot make everyone happy on the date, but MONDAY, 17 FEBRUARY 2014, from 4:30 to 8:30 PM is the time to put on your calendar.
Killeen/Harker Heights area
Still trying to figure out if we can make a private venue work or should we do a public venue.
Respectfully,
OldSarge

Whew, well that last post avoids an uncomfortable "position". LOL Under Randi is always fun!
Private vs Public Venue
Similarities: Respect, no pay for play at the site, arrive and depart in appropriate clothing, no load noises. “after party” activities will be happening someplace else.
Public Pros: Restaurant and wait staff, pay as you go.
Private Pros: More security and privacy. Able to have any conversation.
Discussion: Some have suggested that a private venue is more desirable than a public one. The main reason I have heard is that one avoids of the risk of being “outed” or seen, at a meeting of hobbyists/providers.
The fact remains a public venue is the easiest to coordinate and attend and incurs no risk to the event coordinator.
I have no issues pursuing a private venue.
The choice in foods and drinks will be more limited. The privacy and openness will be greater.
I am open to discussion on the pros/cons and or desirability of a private (no play) venue versus a public (no play) venue.
Respectfully,
OldSarge

My vote for private is because I am a native of Killeen/temple. I own and operate several local businesses and know most of the locals here. I have been on thus board and aspd for over a dozen years without being outed. I believe I was the only hobbyist on the boards for some time, we didn't even have any providers then lol. It seems every time I am in a compromising situation I run into someone I know. Hence my vote for private Sarge. I have no problem

Hell yeah I am under Sterling, Old Sarge and Nephilim. I like that lol. I vote private obviously. Sterling and Swordmaster were just two of the members I have talked to that would love to attend a social but need it to be a private not public setting ands that's why I made the suggestion early on. I feel like the whole point is for members and providers to attend and this seems to be the easiest way for that to happen. If I had a house I would definitely love to host an event. Hopefully soon I can make that a possibility.

I have a suggestion on covering the expense of food and drinks for a private gathering. If it were to take place in a public restaurant everyone would be responsible for there own tab so why not ask anyone that wants to attend to donate ten dollars to the host/hostess. You would spend waaaaay more than that at a restaurant or bar. Just a thought.

I'd host but if my gf showed up it would probably go over like a fart in a spacesuit.
