My point is, it becomes very tricky indeed when you are the one under the gun.
We were talking about the chain of command. Paterno followed the chain of command. Should the law be changed? Should the person who saw the action be the one to report it to police? I say yes.
Paterno should not have even been involved. McQuiry should have went to the police IMHO.
My defense of Paterno has been the overzealous fools that think with hindsight they know exactly wtf they would have done. With hindsight, Paterno knew what he would have done different. Unfortunatly we do not livve in a world where hindsight is allowed except on Monday morning on talk radio where we all would know how and what to do.

IP's are an inexact science for narrowing down to an exact individual. To a particular device or network, certainly. You can identify "location" - but not "uniqueness". I gave my scenario of that call to LE, what's yours?
Beyond that, I have no quarrel with anything else you said here. And yes, of course the person who actually saw the crime should report it. They are a witness, cops and prosecutors love witnesses.

Please explain how "omnipotent" even fits into this conversation. I know you're an idiot, I just want to pin down why.

HaHa, usually you are funny.
Please help cutiepie understand the simple
omnipotent [ɒmˈnɪpətənt]
adj having very great or unlimited power
n
cutiepie,
Booth said he knew what cb understood but was not sure about me. Thus I used the proper adj. in asking him what I did.
If you need further help ask nevergivesit, he isn't to funny but he is pretty bright. Fuc, even your girlfriend Olivia might have gotten the connection.

Dear COG
here's the help. i learned long ago never to try to figure out the meaning of WTF's posts. it will change soon enough and any prior post will be inoperative. its a mind altering and boggling thing to attempt to apply any traditional meaning to his posts.
Dr. nevergaveitathought

Thanks, Doc. Now I get it. It's like trying to understand the philosophical underpinnings of a Three Stooges short.

"Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk!"
OK, I thought nevergivesitathought would be more helpful...
chicagoboy made a comment about Booth's Onion link.
I made a joke about what he said in relation to the source, the Onion.
Booth then says he was sure chicagoboy got it but he was not sure about me.
Thus , I used the word omnipotent.
As in Booth had the power to know what chicagoboy understood but not the power to know if I understood what he was trying to say.
Booth appeared omnipotent in relation to chicagoboy but not to me. Thus I said:

I used the word correctly. If you were omnipotent you would have known that.

I have no idea.
PM you and hope you turn it in to the proper authorities?
But I do not really want to get involved in that shit. Who does?
There is this phenomenon where the more people that see a crime the fewer people help because they all think another will make the call. I can not remember the name of that.

That is exactly the point. Joe Paterno would have been a footnote to this invistigation had the AD reported it to the police. Had the person that saw the actual crime reported it, Joe Paterno would not have been involved at all.
That is why I find it amazing that some folks feel the need to say that Paterno was an accessory to a crime.

Give it a rest, WTF. Omniscient would have made more sense, but as a non-scient, you wouldn't understand that. Paterno's gone, he will be forgotten, hopefully his funeral befitting a saint will not set back the boys' recovery much.
But you will have the last word. Go for it. I'm not coming back to this thread.

You say omniscient, I say omnipotent.
I understand, I told you I am omnipotent.
Look , why don't you just admit it isn't the word you would have used but it does make sense. It was the word I chose and it makes sense.
Why do you always think that you are the only one who knows anything? That there is only one way to skin a cat? Your way!

Why would a saintly funeral for a saintly man set back the boys' recovery. The Saintly Paterno did not molest them.

Hopefully you can do better than Olivia did when she said as much.
