I’ll be on the edge of my seat waiting for you to answer my questions.

You’re in a conundrum. You can’t answer the question in a way that makes non-US countries look good, yet the US look bad by implementing tariffs. You want this outcome to make Trump look bad. This is where you are as Democrat. Think about that.

1. The Bahamas applies a uniform tariff rate of 7% on most imported goods, regardless of the product type, as part of its customs duty structure. This flat rate simplifies the tariff system, though certain goods like vehicles or luxury items may face additional taxes or specific duties.
2. Bermuda applies a flat tariff rate of 25% on most imported goods, with some exceptions for essential items like food and medicine, which may have lower or zero rates.
3. The Cayman Islands impose a standard tariff rate of 7% on most imports, though certain goods like vehicles or alcohol may face higher specific duties.

You missed the point. He answered a loaded false equivalency with an apt counter to bypass the fat and get to the meat.

Scott Bessent doing the work. The US is just trying to be like all the other countries that have tariffed us for decades.

“We've brought in nearly $100B in tariff revenue so far and are on track for $300B this year. That's almost 1% of GDP. June delivered a budget surplus with higher revenue and lower spending.

This is how we clean up the fiscal mess we inherited.”

Another great deal announced today by President Trump!

The agreement imposes a 19% tariff on Philippine goods exported to the U.S., while U.S. goods exported to the Philippines face zero tariffs, with the Philippines described as going "OPEN MARKET" with the U.S. The deal also includes expanded military cooperation between the two nations.

There’s also reports of additional deals with Japan and Indonesia.

Now list how many trade deals team Biden did that favored the US?

That would be off topic, but nice try.

By the way, a simple Google search will reveal many, many trade deals that favored the US under 46.

The only thing team Biden’s deals were good for is supporting globalism and favoring the other countries.

This is why Trump has to enhance trade deals and policy to allow the US to be benefit.

Are the enhanced trade deals in the room with you?

He said the same thing about NAFTA, enhanced it into the USMCA which was the greatest deal ever... than forgot he negotiated it and shat all over it as the worst negotiated deal ever.

Why? According to Bam it's to eliminate all tariffs while simultaneously using all the tariff revenue to plug the budget and return all the job to the U.S. while making us great again, and making everything in America again, while tanking the dollar and flipping us back to the gold standard... where tariffs will replace all income taxes even though we won't be importing stuff anymore. And we'll be debt free.

Japan deal is another partial framework so he can claim credit before finishing the work.

Not ready to be tallied

So what’s the alternative to make things better for the people of the US? Status quo is the answer? Do nothing?

Unlimited criticism but not so much on any ways to drive improvement from current state.

Alternatives. Smart, nuanced tariffs can be a part of that. Business incentives. Tax code changes. Getting Congress on board with a plan to pass legitimate immigration reform.

But let's stick to how his tariff plan was blunted, unclear and incoherent. That's the topic afterall.

His approach is usually too much stick with little to no carrot.
