trump's tariffs are a tax on the American people. Period.

Anyone who believes differently lacks the fundamental knowledge to post in this thread. They are the suckers he needed to pull this stupid shit off.

Good breakdown of the current situation

And another reason you want to see the signed deals rather than listen to Trump bloviations

Mow, the important thing to remember is that this isn't 67 completed deals.

Once President Donald Trump’s planned tariffs take effect, Americans will see an average tax of 18.3% for imported products, the highest rate since 1934
I believe the current estimate is $2,400 on avg in increased import tax, per person

tariffs works both ways. unless you think tariffs on US goods aren't a tax to consumers in Nations that tariffs US goods?

Trump's endgame is free trade or as close to it as possible.

Did Navarro tell you that?

Lol... meanwhile how did they explain the upcoming recession, job losses and declining stock market??

We're in chapter 2 of the Taco Tariffs. And if let's say other countries acquiesce and lower tariffs to American imports, do you really think Trump would reduce tariffs for them coming here?

He's been blathering about Andrew Jackson's success, and his economist s have never talked about a strategy that stopped American tariffs.

Believe what you want, flat earthers tend to think the kraken is real, and Trump's tan is real.

Trump’s endgame is to offset income taxes with tariffs. He’s turning America into a banana republic.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana_republic
A banana republic is a country with an economy of state capitalism, where the country is operated as a private commercial enterprise for the exclusive profit of the ruling class. Typically, a banana republic has a society of extremely stratified social classes, usually a large impoverished working class and a ruling class plutocracy, composed of the business, political, and military elites. The ruling class controls the primary sector of the economy by exploiting labor. Such exploitation is enabled by collusion between the state and favored economic monopolies, in which the profit, derived from the private exploitation of public lands, is private property. At the same time, the debts incurred thereby are the financial responsibility of the public treasury. Therefore, the term banana republic is a pejorative descriptor for a servile oligarchy that abets and supports, for kickbacks, the exploitation of large-scale plantation agriculture, especially banana cultivation.

nonsense. tariffs have nothing to do with state ownership and control of commerce.

Tariffs hearken back to a time in this country when income and corporate taxes were nonexistent.

This description is not where we are now but it sure seems like we’re moving in that direction and the president’s use of tariffs is indicative of that change in direction.
