Is asking for a deposit a scam? Not inherently. But...



I'm personally not a huge fan of the practice. It works fine for many ladies and that's great but for me-- I'm just not fond of the additional paper trail. Particularly now with our fair leaders wanting more and more access to our banking proclivities.

There is an emerging newer generation of clientele who has completely different ideals regarding marriage, coupling, procreating, and Sex Work etc.

They prefer to stay single and hire companions to fulfill those needs. They understand that luxury services are in fact a luxury and are more than willing to comply with a companions requirements. They enjoy longer more mutually beneficial relationships with their companions, and they have the means to indulge because of above mentioned differences in societal norms. They are respectful and generous and like to do things like dinner or lunch dates, museum exploration, theatre, short getaways or long vacations. (Etc)

The demand is high and will continue to grow because of these things. The supply is low because not everyone is cut out to deal with the misogynistic nature of the “hobby” crowd.

I’d expect rates to continue to rise as with most services. It’s really very simple.

I will add that the pandemic has only increased demand as people are not able to make personal/physical connections quite the same as before.

I definitely understand why a provider would want a deposit. I also understand the hesitation to give one. The problem many providers are scamming and also false advertising. If I know for a fact that a provider is legit and can provide the service I want then I have no issues on deposit or pricing. Until I can find a provider that can check both of those boxes, I won't overpay or give deposits.

Typically I’ve been getting requests for 50% deposits using cash app or Venmo. I’m not really down for that. Unless, is there a way the girls can prove they’re legit and not a scammer? Or any way we can do the same so it’s not such a high amount?

Are there current providers that you have seen that you would pay a deposit to?

I would think the quandary here is that once a guy is comfortable that said girl is both legit and won’t steal from him, he should know her well enough that she would no longer require said deposits.

Is this a Chicken/egg quandary? I’ll take the mystery out of it. Never pay a deposit in the hobby. There’s no legal discourse if you get duped.

Often? No. But let's explore. Say it's a traveling girl you've only seen once or twice. But you have seen her and you know she books up quickly.

Does something like that factor into your calculus? Or do you expect you already have enough relationship to secure the slot.

I agree that once you've established the appropriate report it's less likely. But where is that line of comfort? Especially with the horror stories both sides trot out as the exceptions to the rules about trusting established reputations.

If we're talking another date at her local incall, or his local outcall, there shouldn't be deposits on recurring clients.

But, there's numerous other situations where deposits could easily be appropriate. But, shouldn't we also wrap issues related to cancellation fees into this discussion? That is why a lot of traveling gals do ask for deposits. Seriously they lose way more an hour if there's a no show or late cancel.

Ignoring rip offs (some mentioned above), I'm going to mention a deposit type I think is just fine.

Travel expenses.
What if a traveling gal is coming to town for just one date request? Yes, appropriate even if a repeat date.

What if guy wants to take gal on a vaca somewhere. Yes a repeat client. Well again yes. Plane fare, partial fee on a long weekend, etc. (Btw, that was a nice ski weekend out west).

My point being the deposit concept must be in appropriate context for whatever the situation is at hand.

If I am comfortable enough to give her a deposit and she is not comfortable enough with me to not ask for one then I had better rethink how comfortable I am with her.

A deposit for expenses a hooker is going to incur for just one client is different and not what this thread is about. Nobody is bitching about forking over a chicks air fare to come see just you. Nor is anyone talking about whisking away a girl on vacation for a week

Comfort differs by person. Everyone has a different risk profile and risk tolerance. If you are comfy with her, she doesn't have to be comfy with you, and vice versa.

Carpenter's perspective is one I understand
