But that didn't happen.

Google search on "JCPOA Compliance" returns:

As of 2025, Iran is in non-compliance with the 2015 JCPOA nuclear restrictions, having accelerated uranium enrichment and restricted IAEA monitoring following the U.S. withdrawal in 2018
. Iran currently enriches uranium up to 60% and maintains stockpiles above agreed limits. European partners initiated "snapback" sanctions in late 2025.
Key Aspects of JCPOA Compliance:
  • Original Agreement: Signed in July 2015, the JCPOA (Iran nuclear deal) restricted Iran's nuclear program—limiting uranium enrichment levels (

), stockpile sizes, and centrifuge usage—in exchange for sanctions relief.
  • Compliance Timeline: Iran was in full compliance until May 2019, one year after the U.S. unilaterally withdrew.
  • Current Violations: Iran has breached limits by accumulating high-enriched uranium, installing advanced centrifuges, and resuming 20% enrichment at the Fordow facility.
  • Monitoring Issues: Iran suspended its implementation of the Additional Protocol in 2021, limiting IAEA inspection capabilities.

According to Google's AI Iran was compliant with the JCPOA and did not enrich above the 3.67% cap that the agreement set. It also states that Iran did not start to enrich the Uranium past the 3.67% cap until one year after Trump took the USA out of the deal. See Compliance Timeline bullet.

So, Trump took the USA out of the JCPOA agreement in May 2018. Iran waited a full year before starting to breach the limits of enriched Uranium they could have by reinstalling the high speed centrifuges that had been turned off or as someone wrote "mothballed". This allowed them to enrich up to the 60% concentration they have today.

Bottom line if they were doing all the cheating that has been implied by some they would have been way past 60% concentration of U-235 by now.

Default Trust but verify

So's yer say'n we can trust Iran when they say they have no nukes (material), but when they chant Death to America, it's just "hyperbolic rhetoric rather than a reflection of the entire Iranian population's beliefs"?

You do know that for the past few years they have refused inspectors. AmmIrite?!?
