Also, there are such things as fighting seasons because of weather (you know, climate) and other factors. Do you know how much money it takes to keep an army and navy in the field? How many more American lives would have been lost had Saddam been given another 6 months to a year to conscribe, train and equip a larger army? Regardless of whether we found WMDs we were eventually going in because Iraq under Saddam's control was a direct threat to the west and the US.
