The virus, developed in one of our military labs, was originally introduced in the USA as a way of killing off our deadwood -- older people, people with medical conditions that are expensive to treat, and overweight people who consume too much food resources. The reasoning by the top brass was that this would make the U.S. more competitive economically. And some top politicians as well as the man really calling the shots for the deep state, Barrack Obama, weighed in favoring the virus because the deaths will reduce the fiscal burden. In the long run, we'll save money on social security, Medicare and social security disability.
However, the fallout to the military and the politicians if this ever became public would be severe. So we slyly introduced the virus to Wuhan when the Military World Games were held in October of last year, so we could blame it on the Chinese. We knew the PRC would just lock everybody up who had the virus, so they won't be able to get rid of their deadwood.
And all has worked as planned. And our allies are happy because they're getting rid of their deadwood too!
