Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) doubled down on recent remarks about Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies amid a government shutdown battle centered around health care.
“The issues of the subsidies are real. It’s not something that anybody can say is made up,” Greene told NewsNation’s Blake Burman on “The Hill. “Also, people with regular or private plans, their premiums are looking to go up a median of 18 percent, that’s brutal. I know a lot of small business owners, like a family of four, and they’re paying $2,000 a month.”
“If you double their health insurance, or even triple it, these people are going to they’re either going to have to drop it, or they’re going to be choosing between rent and their insurance,” Greene later added.
She also said she thinks Republicans “got to get real and actually come up with a solution.”
“I’m literally here in Washington saying, you guys, if we don’t fix this right now, Americans are going to be hurting, and they really don’t care about R and D. They’re going to be talking about what’s happening to their bank accounts, what’s happening to their family, and that’s how they’re going to vote,” she told Burman.
Greene indicated on Monday a willingness to negotiate with Democrats on health care demands. The Georgia Republican said she was “absolutely disgusted” that health insurance premiums could double in the case of ACA tax credits expiring

When Marge is a voice of reason, looking for bipartisan compromise and recognizing the danger to her constituents you have to step back and take note.
We're also at 8:1 on those who blame Republicans by those who voted that we would get a shutdown. 8:0 if you back out the one that came after the shutdown

how do you feel about Air traffic controllers not showing up for work, or being understaffed? Does any of your family or friends travel by air, or do they only drive? I'd suggest that that's just one of the things that will affect you now or in the not too distant future. Course if you and yours never leave the house- then it's probably not an issue.
Goods, products/ services that utilize air travel such as Amazon or other purchases that get air transport will end up being affected also.

Wait until people start missing paychecks.
Over 250,000 federal employees did not receive their scheduled paychecks this week due to the ongoing government shutdown.
If the shutdown continues into a third week, an additional two million federal workers will also miss pay.

Absolutely. A quarter million fewer bureaucrats is cause for celebration.

As of today this shutdown is tied for the longest (35 days) in history. The prior record was under Trump 1.0
And recent polling still shows Republicans shouldering the majority of the blame

Thune was about to lose his mind when he was railing at Dems. It's as if the GOP thinks the ONLY solution is a CR- and while it's A SOLUTION, it's certainly not the ONLY one. Not till it costs even more political clout and effort will the GOP sway from this nonsense.
All those who have been having town halls are being met with boo's and chants- It's ridiculous that this POTUS, (whom believes that shutdowns are a negative on the POTUS as it's their job to get unification) has turned 180 degrees on his stance. Once the guy thought he was a great negotiator- and now he's been measured as only a guy who forces himself of others- vs. negotiate. Women, East Wings, politics, Policy, or generally anything to do in business. He DOESN'T even know how to negotiate. Only how to threaten.
Finding out that Every bully gets his come-upence. I hope his lands him in impeached and in jail. Fucking with citizens lives ....deserves that at a minimum

The Republicans in the Senate won't nuke the filibuster because that would undermine the uniparty plan to slow walk the Trump agenda until he's out of office, and they can try and get back to business as usual.
None of these people wants to MAGA. They just want to wait him out.

The Democrats shut the government down for forty days, and the only thing they achieved was getting people rehired, who they were responsible for getting fired in the first place.
Democrats are retarded.

The Dems are conjuring off ramps for themselves. They’ll eventually vote for the clean CR. Like always.
