In 2009 the unemployment rate (U3) was 10%. In Jan of 2017 the
the unemployment rate (U3) was 4.7%. The unemployment rate has only moved 1.1 percentage points under Trump, it is currently 3.6%. Those are the facts. The point is Trump did not have to move the unemployment rate very far to set record for lowest in 49 years.

Obama said to the effect regarding the US's GDP. He said to the effect that 2.0 GDP is the new normal and 3.0 GDP will never happen.

To be fair, we did not have a GDP of 3.0 in either 2017 or 2018. 2.2% in 2017 and 2.9% in 2018. I personally consider 2.9% GDP very good. Despite the excellent start to 2019 with a 3.2% GDP, Kiplinger is predicting a 2019 GDP in the 2.6% range. If the GDP does fall to around 2.6% this year, should that be looked at as failure? I don't think so.

None of the economist predictions have come true now you're hanging your hat on them??
Failure...you say Trump is a failure ALL the time...now you don't think so...please make up your mind.
You just like the rest of the left...don't like Trump because he outrages you.

The 3.2% GDP growth that was reported was for one quarter. Obama has had higher quarters where the GDP growth was 5.1%. From the link.

GDP growth

Over the course of Obama’s first year in office, GDP dropped 2.5 percent. In 2010, GDP growth recovered, surging 2.5 percent. Growth was already positive when Trump took office, jumping from 1.6 percent in 2016 to 2.2 percent in 2017. Trump might point us to quarterly GDP growth. The economy is estimated to have gained 4.2 percent in the second quarter of 2018, but that still pales in comparison with the 5.1 percent and 4.9 percent growth in the second and third quarters of 2014 under Obama.

The graph showing the unemployment rate percentages is in the link below. The graph will show that the unemployment rate was 10% in 2009 and 4.7% in Jan 2017 when Obama left office.

So it took Obama 8 years to lower unemployment by about 50% from his starting point and yet Trump accomplished a 25% reduction in just about 2 years.

Thanks again Trump.
