I’ll put my charitable giving against anyone’s, possibly short a few billionaires. It’s north of the average family income most years, and that’s not factoring in time volunteering instead of out charging clients draconian service rates. We’ve both been blessed with great careers and give because we ~WANT~ and can afford to, not because we’re forced to at gunpoint. I’d be happy to forward you the links to our favorites, every little bit helps.
And yes, parents should provide their own kids lunches, whether that’s buying what they’re serving or packing at home. My pop died young and mom scrounged for every nickel, but my brother, sister and I always had lunch in our lunchbox. She’d have never even considered that some other person should be paying for her kids school lunch.

The Sheep and the Goats
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

I’m not seeing the government force angle in that passage. Your ghost story is based upon people’s free will, not the business end of an MP5. I don’t believe in those fairy tales, but if true my soul is prepared. Is yours, or do you think advocating for the fruits of other people’s labor is enough?

I am not a religious man. But you cannot deny that there is undeniable truth and wisdom there. Beauty also. You don't have to believe in God or anything else.
And it says better than any of us ever could that MAGA doesn't fucking get it.

You may find it beautiful, but you clearly don’t understand it at all. The passage is about punishment and reward that come from one’s CHOICES, not from what they’re forced to do. People can be forced to do many things, good or bad, but none of them reveal their true character.

Look, I’m the only person here with a Doctor of Divinity degree. And if what Jacuzzme told us was true, and I bet it is, his place in the hereafter is secured unless he does something really stupid.
And remember,
“He who doth lie and cheat and steal and believeth he shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven because he doth favor larger government is sadly mistaken.”
- Book of Tiny, Chapter 8, Verse 4
This passage was not written with any esteemed board members in mind. Rather it’s a warning the Almighty will not let you off the hook just because you’re a Democrat.
The big brouhaha about having SNAP benefits delayed by a week or whatever is much ado about nothing. As someone here said, the overweight Walmart customer may benefit from a little fasting. The sudden cut in USAID spending is far more problematic IMO. People will die because of that.

I believe in LBJ’s war on poverty which introduced the food stamp program.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_on_poverty
LBJ:
But I would like to caution you and remind you that to exercise these privileges takes much more than just legal right. It requires a trained mind and a healthy body. It requires a decent home, and the chance to find a job, and the opportunity to escape from the clutches of poverty.
Of course, people cannot contribute to the nation if they are never taught to read or write, if their bodies are stunted from hunger, if their sickness goes untended, if their life is spent in hopeless poverty just drawing a welfare check. So we want to open the gates to opportunity. But we're also going to give all our people, black and white, the help that they need to walk through those gates.

Does it have to be malicious, or does any doing something really stupid count? If the later, I’m doomed to eternal damnation.

... How 'bout we all wander back to the thread topic.
... IF liberals are gonna panic because their food stamps
are cut off during the shutdown - then have the Democrats
VOTE to pass the bill. ... Shutdown stops and Government is re-opened.

Nah, that’s not gonna happen. Nobody trusts Twitler to honor any deals. How will his lackeys continue to play along with his cruel authoritarian game while their own constituents are beyond pissed.
This isn’t winning, Salty my pal.
MAGA is bearing the blame for this and the chickenshit do nothing MAGA Congress is gonna turn over before they know it.
This is what LOSING looks like.
