Building on PMD's comments, sometimes a few of us will come on here and make some suggestions. I have been guilty of this many times. I am not a mod, can't afford the bump in income into a higher tax bracket - Obama would tax me to death.

When we make these suggestions, it is because we hope to prevent you from either earning some points, a vacation, or destroying your dang reputation around here. But many of you don't have any worries about your reputation.

I know a lot of people use a combination of the following marketing techniques:

There is a sucker born every minute.

Any publicity is good publicity.

You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time.

However, when I see someone using one or more of those marketing techniques, they reach elite status on my DNS list. Certain handles reach this status all on their own, others by association with elite status DNS members. Not trying to start an argument here, just trying to explain the outcome of certain behaviors.

But, in a market like the DFW area, I guess that does not prevent a lady with a questionable reputation from making a good living. More power to you I guess.

As far as the threAD aspects of this, I figure about 50% of the time ladies post outside of the Ad forum it is a threAD. There are a few exceptions, I could point out those ladies who really discuss world topics with us, but that probably would just piss someone else off and start another firestorm.

I have no dog in this fight just wondering why being able to steer away from the original OP's question is a hijack in one thread but in another its just a "FLOW OF DISCUSSION"...

Why, Texasquest? Because THIS thread became about two providers trading insults, with no relevance to ANY discussion. Torito was providing guidance on not continuing that particular type of post.

The OTHER thread had a discussion about ISO usage in addition to the OP's question of "how do guys make decisions in ISO?"

So, quote me all you like. It's still accurate, and it's still consistent. The threads are different.

So unless every post about taint, or "+1" or other info that doesn't directly relate to an OP should be pointed, you are attempting to too strictly interpret a "hijack" to suit the fact that you don't like or agree with a given poster.

In attempting to not be to "heavy handed" we don't force members to always directly include replies to the OP. On the other hand, insult exchanges like that seen here will also not be allowed.

Also, your questions on "what is a hijack" might better be answered in a "questions for staff" thread of your own, rather than on multiple threads following the drama around.

Sorry Duke but in an earlier thread you stated it was perfectly fine to respond to another post in a thread even if the first post had no relevance to the original OP's question. You said that threads could change and evolve from the original subject. Now your saying something different. One could take this as it depends on who is posting and who isn't. I dunno does it mean that if a certain clique derails a thread and causes drama it's OK. as that's just the "Flow of a thread". But if people outside of that circle do it then it's hijacking a thread?? What makes it right for one group and not the rest??
