At least the Ohio forum is separate from the Pgh forum here. They would still come here and whine about everything. Wavehaggler would surf over from Cleveland. Kowabunga dudes. I'm sure if the FBI gets involved you have several areas to look at but if he does get time I would not think running a site which in one fashion or another maybe a legal site but is dealing with escorts would be allowed.

can you really fault p.i. for trying to protect himself from any self incriminating evidence....if i were him i wouldn't have made the first post....anyone who was worried about exposure could leave the site....the most it would cost them is the 50.00 they may have paid for the extra access....
if losing 50.00 is your main concern you're probably in the wrong hobby....

What I do know is that he's now pled to a procuring charge and 3 counts of money laundering while he's operating a board about "the hobby" and asking for members to give money for elevated levels of participation. Don't you think, from a risk management standpoint, that members over there have a right to know, perhaps before they send in their 50 bucks? Not everyone is smart enough to do that with cash or a green dot.

PI will tell you it's not germane to indys. Considering that indys touts itself as "dedicated to your safety?" Reasonable people might disagree as to what level of risk it represents, but there are indys members who presumably don't know that the guy at the top is in a wee spot of trouble related to hookers and money. It does not seem sporting. Again, YMMV.

Money laundering charges are very serious, and a conviction can ruin your life...

Prison. Money laundering is almost charged as a felony offense, but in some states misdemeanor charges are possible. Probation. Probation sentences are possible for money laundering convictions. During the time you're on probation you have to meet specific probation conditions. Probation terms typically include regularly reporting to a probation officer, allowing the officer to conduct random home checks, taking random drug tests, and not committing other crimes. If you violate probation a court can revoke it and order you to serve a prison term, lengthen the probation period, impose additional fines, or impose other penalties.
