Lucas, you really need to be more tolerant of people like that. Trumpy needs to get back in his big toy helicopter and take another joy ride. When he gets back to the hospital the doctors need to do an in depth psyc exam. The doctors and the real Americans already know he is just not right in his little twit head brain

Trump is not overly bright and perhaps ignorant.

Being president he does have access to intel that may not be disclosed to Fauci. It is unknown what perhaps limited info Fauci was being given when he made his pronouncements. Also there is evidence that Trump leans on officials to spin things his way so all this could play into any disparity between Trump's Woodward tape and Fauci statements.
Fauci may have been "downplaying" things at Trump's urging.

Why don't we watch the new documentary coming out Oct 13th which will very explicitly outline the Trump Plague virus fuck-ups.
It's called " Totally Under Control".

You're right.... that's why we refer to her as "Crazy Nancy"!

Hahaha... so lemme get this straight... after months of demanding trumpy and the country need to listen to Dr. Fauci and "follow the science", when you're confronted with timelines and quotes showing that's exactly what everyone did - you tell us Fauci shouldn't be believed after all!

You libtards are just too fucking ridiculous!

Your TDS makes you flip-flop and sputter one inconsistency after another!

And the funniest part is - you act blissfully unaware of your own illogic and utter stupidity!

Listen to Fauci when he is provided all the info and intelligence that Trump has at his disposal and also when Fauci is not being pressured to "downplay" things by Trump.

Intelligent people don't have to resort to name-calling and questioning other's intelligence.

"not overly bright" - that's a comparative so its a meaningless statement without the comparison . but it doesn't take a genius to be a president, or even a supreme court justice, and especially a politician

what it does take is what trump has an analytical mind, backbone and being a man of action. trump has all those in spades, plus a love of America that's missing on the dim side

"perhaps ignorant"- that supposition doesn't need a supposing, its a verity, but what it does need is a prepositional phrase. ignorant about what? to not know that is, by definition, ignorance

"he does have access to intel that may not be disclosed to fauci" - while that statement may well be true, its idiotic in the context of covid- fauci was the disseminator of the intel on covid

"Fauci may have been "downplaying" things at Trump's urging". no evidence of that at all. trump does at times point out his disagreements with people, like the cdc head who said the mask was better than a vaccine. which was not very smart, I'd say

It's called " Totally Under Control" -
does it include videos of scurrying rats while it talks about trump and his advisors?

overall rating on your post D-

Intelligent people don't have to resort to name-calling and questioning other's intelligence.

Trump had intelligence that didn't come from the leading scientist like Fauci. Where do you think this intelligence that Trump got that Fauci didn't, came from if you don't mind expanding on that theory?

And where is this evidence except in your own mind because you have been caught flatfooted, that Fauci was pressured? The man contradicted Trump more times than I can count.

You have been proved wrong but you just can't admit it.

And if in your words, "intelligent people don't have to resort to name calling", then you have just outed yourself as a not intelligent person.

See, this is what happens when one has to start "crawfishing" meaning moving backwards because you can't press the case you were making.

The survival rate is around 99.5%. That's including people with antibodies who weren't tested in the denominator. If it were 97% we'd be screwed. However, if someone is over 70 years old, male, and has a pre-existing condition, his chances of dying are higher than 3% if infected. In which case shutting down and trembling in fear might be a good idea.

Sportfisherman has some good points. At the risk of sounding absurd, if he'd been an adviser to Trump, and Trump listened to him instead of his own instincts, he'd probably win the election.

What would have happened if Trump had aggressively used the bully pulpit to promote simple measures we can take that wouldn't harm the economy? Things like mask wearing, social distancing, staying home if you're sick. What if he'd made more public appearances while wearing masks. Better publicized how he used the Defense Production Act, and maybe pushed American companies more to manufacture more masks and testing chemicals and equipment. Hired a lot of new people at the CDC to help spearhead contact tracing. All this wouldn't have cost much money. You could argue this would have done three things,

1. Decreased the number of number of lives lost
2. Made people feel safer, so some weren't as afraid to go out and eat, go shopping, etc. This would have kept more businesses open, more people off the unemployment rolls, etc.
3. Given Trump a fighting chance of winning the election.

If Trump had done all this, I'm not sure how much difference it would have made for "1", and especially for "2" above. Certainly more than some of our esteemed posters like Why_Yes_I_Do and Levianon think. And certainly less than most on the left believe.

But as to #3, there's less room to argue. Trump would be the favorite to win come November 3 IMO.

I name call Trump some and question his intelligence (not as bad as I have in past). He is a politician and a public figure and fair game.

But I do not name call or question the intellect of poster's on this board.

Trump gets national security briefings that Fauci does not get.The info Trump disclosed to Woodward could have come from that intelligence as to this being a bad virus.

My reading has shown that there was "pushback" within briefings where Trump pushed back against any public disclosures that would not jive with the Trump rap that everything was cool.

This officially outs you as being a liar. Which is something you called me a few months ago. The big difference here is I do not lie. Obviously, you do.
It is not lying to point out poor sentence construction...If/were is pretty basic. Anyone who doesn't nail that would be considered a poor student at a real school...
