So, Obama admonishing his supporters to "bring a gun" could not have inspired this nutcase, who's been described by his classmate as "left wing" and "quiet liberal"?

I think one thing we can all agree on is that overt or implied calls for violence should not be part of the public discourse on politics. And that we all feel deep sadness for the victims and their families.

Presently, I feel the U.S. government has tacked too far to the left (port); therefore, it must soon start tacking to the right (starboard) to avoid wrecking on the rocks of Socialism.
So you think that eight years of tacking to the right should be followed by no more than two years of tacking to the left!

No damn wonder McCain made a hard turn to the right with constituents so well read!

Pay it no mind! I B Hankering seems to have conveniently lost sight of the fact that the "Right" has been in control of the White House for 20 of the past 30 years. Given the amount of time the Right has controlled WH policies, if this country is indeed on a path to becoming a Socialistic society, they have no one to blame but themselves!

While Sarah Palin's (She tweeted "Don't retreat, RELOAD") immediately following the health care vote) ridiculous remarks seem to be getting a lions share of the attention at present, she is far from alone! Conservative commentators such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and the like are equally at fault by spreading their personal brand of political vitriol!

LOL! Well even /me finds this still acceptable, I'm for radical free speech. (and I'm aware that this can lead to shouting competition.)

What I do not find acceptable are anti-democratic acts to silence free speech.

Ok, will someone please post a link to the graphic of the congresswoman in a scope target reticle supposedly used by Palin?

This is all I can find, just markers on a map, I've never seen cross hairs go beyond the circle of a scope's optics, these markers appear to be designed specifically not to look like an actual retacle.

Whereas this one does look like a bullseye.

While your at it, explain how Palin, Beck et.al. inspired a guy who didn't bother to list any of their books as favorites?

And why is it OK for Obama to tell his supporters to "bring a gun" which, I think was the first reference to such a thing during the recent political era?

Well the target looks pretty real; fascinating that the Palin website was taken down shortyl after the shooting.

I haven't seen anyone defend Obama's statement. Nonetheless that kind of rhetoric is more prevalent from the right.

As am I.

I was jacking with PJ logic that Palin needs any kind of apology for putting crosshairs on her political targets districts. She knows who she is playing to.

Nobody cares for violence in these matters, unfortunately when you ratchet up the rhetoric, violence soon follows.

I'm sure Palin doesn't give a shit what browneagle say/thinks about her.

My point was merely that he made a typical knee-jerk decision that this guy had to be a right wing nut.

Interesting that nobody seems to be interested in the Pelosi angle. I guess she has you all scared.

And your evidence is that there is just as much from the left is? Seems like blaming the MSM is the equivalent of blaming GWB.

Don't speak for all of us. I don't know any of the victims and certainly don't feel deep sadness. I really don't give a shit. I'm not in mourning. Did I wish it didn't happen? Sure. But about as much as I wish there wasn't a car crash on the interstate last night.

Iaintliein (ironic avatar, BTW) how has this deep sadness manifest itself in your personal life. Have you cried? Changed your life? Prayed?
