I ignore no such thing. I merely point out that you yourself are ignoring the fact that the showcase refers to ethnicity and not race. She admitted she is hispanic/white. Therefore, in the context of the showcase field is he lying when he asserts that she admitted not being caucasian?

She either contradicted herself or SHE was the one conflating race and ethnicity. Otherwise what explanation could there be for her statement that she is hispanic as well as caucasian and yet simultaneously seeming to deny being mixed?

What the fuck does 'not entirely white' mean?

You remain confused.

WU was entirely incorrect. He incorrectly said she admitted she was not Caucasian, when she categorically said she was Caucasian.

Geeezzz again.
Well I don't know, you'd have to ask her. The question was posed to her within the context of the showcase which discusses ethnicity. She is the one who referred to herself as hispanic/white. Why would she do that if she did not partially identify as hispanic ethnicity? By "not entirely white" I obviously meant that. Are you being purposely obtuse or what?

Once again you are combining racial definitions with ethnicity definitions which is decidedly unhelpful and irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

But the main crime is to state somebody admitted something when they did no such thing. You are not addressing that point.

If WU had said 'you are not Caucasian' then he is mistaken but not a liar.

He didn't say that.

He said 'She admitted she is not Caucasian'.

Geeezzzz. This will run and run.
As far as the showcase question is concerned it says Ethnicity.

Only one may be selected and the options it gives are as follows:
  • Black/African
  • White/Caucasian
  • Hispanic
  • Asian
  • Middle Eastern
  • Native American
  • Mixed

So, if someone were to ask a question regarding a girl's showcase and she were to say "I'm hispanic/white" followed by "I said I am caucasian because I am" that is at a minimum a very confusing statement because she has admitted to being hispanic AND white which technically makes her of mixed ethnicity at least in this context.

I really don't understand why you keep ignoring this point and removing the discussion entirely out of context. If you have an issue with the way the site has the ethnicity field set up take it up with the ownership.

Maybe the provider misspoke when she referred to herself as hispanic. Maybe she didn't. You'd have to ask her. But to claim someone is a liar for pointing out her statements within the context of her showcase is disingenuous.

Maybe we can tease out some areas of agreement

She said: I'm hispanic/white. It says Caucasian because I am.

Her showcase states Caucasian/white (at least it does now, I don't know whether it did before, she may have changed it).

Now, it could be regarded as contradictory or confusing if and only if hispanic/white is not considered Caucasian. But that would be an obtuse and would fly in the face of accepted understanding of the word Caucasian. As I have repeatedly said, many hispanics are Caucasian, and consider themselves to be Caucasian. Caucasian and hispanic is NOT ethnically mixed.

Caucasian is a racial classification. Hispanic is an ethnicity classification.

She interprets herself, and we have no reason to believe she is anything other, as Caucasian of hispanic ethnicity.

It is confusing only in the context of the Eccie classification system which conflates ethnicity and race. It is not at all confusing to anybody with a brain and eyesight. Of course, Wakeup lives and breathes eccie rules.

A white - hispanic can be just as much a Caucasian as i am.

Wakeup said: I did read (the showcase). It says she's Caucasian. She admits she's not.

So can anybody please point out to me the place where she admits she is not Caucasian?

Until that is done, Wakeup remains a liar.

Why am I doing this? Because I am sick to death of Wakeup's sophistry, game playing with eccie rules, and derailing of threads by continually bringing up racial issues.

See this extract from

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_...tino_Americans

In the United States, a White Hispanic is an American citizen or resident who is racially white (i.e., of primarily European descent) and of Hispanic descent. White American, itself an official U.S. racial category, refers to people "having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa" who reside in the United States.[4]

Based on the definitions created by the Office of Management and Budget and the U.S. Census Bureau, the concepts of race and ethnicity are mutually independent, and respondents to the census and other Census Bureau surveys are asked to answer both questions. Hispanicity is independent and thus not the same as race, and constitutes an ethnicity category, as opposed to a racial category, the only one of which that is officially collated by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Actually, just paraphrasing what Essence has been whining about for 9 pages now. I don't care one way or the other.

Of the remaining 55 states, are Alaska and Hawaii the outliars?

Are cauc-asians excluded under Dorthy's policy?

Asians are excluded regardless of "cauc" status.

Yep, and since showcase refers to ethnicity and she was answering questions about it she admitted the appropriate selection would have been Hispanic not Caucasian... or at the very least mixed.

Exactly my point, I knew you'd come around. This was fun.
