Mr. Nancy telling "The Story of Black People in America" in American Gods. Definitely one that strikes a chord, given everything that's been going on in the last few years.

Probably one of my favorite movie scenes. Love the entire movie, too!

For a great "Fire up the troops" scene you can't beat George C. Scott, as General Patton, delivering the famous "Speech to the Third Army":

Such a great actor he was. I remember this vividly from watching it countless times in my youth.

This quote always stuck with me the most:

"When you put your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend's face...you'll know what to do."

Favorite scene from Babylon 5. Give the graphics a break, it was a long time ago and CGI made tremendous strides since then. Such a great show, though. The first 4 seasons were anyway.

It was kinda screwed over. As I understand it (and I could be wrong), J. Michael Straczynski (JMS) had the entire series plot set out for a complete 5 year run. The original syndicators (Prime Time Entertainment Network) made it clear to JMS towards the end (late season 3, I think, though it could have been beginning of season 4) that they weren't going to give him a 5th season, so JMS did his best to tie up the loose ends by the end of season 4, so everyone would have a sense of closure. Then TNT went and picked up the series for season 5, which meant JMS had to kinda untie the loose ends so he'd have some plot left for season 5, but some think because of that season 5 feels kind of just tacked on to the end.

Never got around to seeing it in the original run, sadly (married life interfered); my aunt, a huge science fiction fan, was an avid B5 fan and loved it (at least during the earlier series run), so it's on my bucket list. FWIW, those of you who are fans may be happy to know that all 5 seasons are available for streaming (in the US only, though those of you in the know overseas will know how to get around that ) on Verizon's go90 streaming service.

Yes, I heard that too about the renewal issue. Makes me wonder if season 4 would have been so outstanding if a season 5 renewal had been thought possible. I assume the original intent was probably to wrap up the Shadow War in season 4 and the Earth rebellion in season 5, but we got them both in season 4 and it was the most compelling season in my opinion. After that in season 5, the telepath revolt fizzled and some of the rest of the season seemed like it was just setting up the spinoff show, Crusade.

I also liked the resolution of the Shadow and Vorlon conflict arc in B5 Season 4.

I'm a sucker for a good fight scene, and Marvel's Netflix series have some pretty awesome fights. Here's one from The Defenders, when all four finally come together:
