Default European Union Backing Off Tariffs

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/busi...-commissioner/

Once again, President Trump's "don't fuck over America" policy is showing results.

Winning.

Trump screwed up and is now backing off. He will never admit he was wrong to impose tariffs. Instead he wants to give $12 billion to U.S. farmers impacted by the tariffs.

"During a recent European trip, Trump referred to the EU as a “foe, what they do to us in trade.” Juncker, after Trump imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, said in March that “this is basically a stupid process, the fact that we have to do this. But we have to do it. We can also do stupid.”

On Wednesday, the tone was conciliatory. Trump and Juncker said they have agreed to work toward “zero tariffs” and “zero subsidies” on non-automotive goods."

The important part is "non-automotive goods" since we import $335 billion in cars and auto parts from Europe. But let's remove those tariffs on Guinness and wine and cheese.

^^^ well buttscum returns with yet another uber intelligent post. NOT.

hahahahahahahahahaa

now on topic, several people here actually think Trump wants a full on trade war. he doesn't but he'll start it and win it if that's what it takes to redress decades of unfair trade.

he has already shown that the mere threat of trade tariffs will make the perps back down. China, the EU and Canada already have. so will anyone else with unfair trade.

they are willing to make "concessions" .. close enough!!!

China's economy is a house of cards waiting to collapse. it has been artificially propped up by the Government forever. there is some untold trillions in the "shadow banking" world. that alone can and will collapse China's entire economy.

so let China play hardball against Trump the the might of the US economy.

we all know who will win that fight. PERIOD!

hahahahaaaaa

Same place the last 18 trillion came from - we created it.

Trump was successful with these negotiations and hopefully this will make trade a little more fair and stimulate economic growth.

Yes it will. And they wouldn't need the help if Trump hadn't imposed tariffs on other countries and they retaliated. That's $12 billion of taxpayers money. Socialism.

I don't see where Canada and the EU have backed down. I think we are back at the point at which we started before Trump started the trade war.

Tell me how it is now better.
