Why would it end his career? Duncan Hunter and Cris Collins were under indictment for similar crimes when they ran for election and won.
It's a prerequisite now for a republican candidate. The win at all costs dirty politics is their policy now.They welcome criminals.

I wasn't implying this will end his career. He announced several years ago he wasn't going to seek reelection in 2022.
This was probably an attempt to give himself a retirement bonus.
