At what point does "the hobby" cease to be a hobby, and become sexual addiction?
How does one know when one has reached this point?
Our all of us, who are in the hobby, addicts to some degree?
Is there such a thing as too much sex?

If you know you've been going too far and can't stop, that's a good sign. For clues, check out Tiger Woods--the guy risked his reputation and hundreds of millions of dollars worth of endorsements to openly run around with agency girls--obvious addict with real problems.

I tend to think I have an obsession as opposed to an addiction . . . for some reason, it sounds better to me . . .
But seriously, I think BCG has it right . . . if it takes over your entire life, becomes a 24/7 pursuit to the detriment of your job, home, and life in general . . . it's more than likely an addiction . . .

Sex addiction and other compulsive behaviors are real and can be severely damaging to the addicted and those involved with the addicted. There is a big difference between getting a little strange now and then (the right safe way) and spending hours upon hours surfing the net setting up appointments with escorts all over the place.

It becomes a problem when the only joy you get is from the lustful feelings/feelings of orgasm that you get with providers. Plus the financial ruin that can happen in pursuit of those rushes. True addicts never stop, because the only feelings that register are the ones their addictions provide. There are those who say they are addicts, but they are not addicts if they know where the "off" switch is.
