Whatever, God bless the Texas and the God bless the next 6 years of Donald J. Trump.
There is not one person I know of with the possible exception of assup who went on record that the Democrats would win back the Senate. So there goes your "Fact". FiveThirtyEight predicted a Republican gain of one. Politico said the Senate would stay Republican. Larry Sabato predicted a 52-48 outcome. Even CNN said Republicans would hold the Senate.

I ask you -- what Democrats predicted that they would win the Senate? You will certainly find a hand full but for the most part they predicted as I did -- a likely Republican gain.

BTW, do I need to point out AGAIN that Trump predicted a RED WAVE?

As for 6 more years of Trump.

Right now the only positive Trump has going for him is that he is the incumbent come 2020 and it is very difficult to defeat the incumbent POTUS.

The only voting bloc that is solidly behind Trump is old, white men without a college education. Men in general backed Trump to a slight degree. Women solidly backed Democrats and those with a college education backed Democrats to an even greater degree. Young people, African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians were all solidly Democratic.

I'm sure you will find this article interesting:

A strong majority of the country does not want President Donald Trump to serve a second term and support for Trump’s re-election is even lower than his already poor approval ratings, according to a new poll released Wednesday and conducted just days after Republicans were served sweeping midterm election losses.

A mere 37 percent of adults polled by Monmouth University supported Trump’s re-election, with 58 percent against the billionaire’s run in 2020. The poll also reflected a 43 percent approval rating, with 49 percent disapproving, numbers that have held steady for Trump through much of 2018 in other national polls.

Support for a Trump 2020 campaign remained the same among registered voters. Thirty-six percent backed Trump for a second term while 59 percent wanted a new leader come January 2021.

Donald's approval rating is lower at this point in time of his presidency than any POTUS going back to Truman.

Obviously Trump has time to turn things around but we all know how stubborn he is. So far this week he has pissed off leaders from France and the U.K.

I realize that you won't change your opinion of Trump. And I realize Texas won't go blue in 2020. But I see Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania going from red to blue which will cost Trump the election.

Speedracer,
You of all people should know that those polls don't mean anything. I'll be in full retirement soon living in a different city and enjoying my prosperity that I am receiving due to Trump and the good folks over at Edward Jones. If folks don't like Trump - then they won't vote for him. However, I think most Americans are doing good under Trump and it will get much better in the next 2 years. I know it will for me ! #Trump 2020

And I was able to retire thanks to the market while Obama was in office. And I am VERY thankful for my social security payments, which is socialism at work in a good way.

The polls missed in 2016. In 2018 they were VERY accurate. Trump's approval rating was poor according to polls and the Republicans did poorly in the elections. At least most people other than you think the Republicans did poorly.

If there is one thing the recent elections showed is that the economy was not as large a factor in people's voting decisions as most Republicans had hoped. Remember how many people on this forum said Republicans would hold the House because the economy was doing so well? Didn't happen. People also care about topics such as health care, immigration and gun control.

I'll miss you if you retire soon and move on from ECCIE. I always find your posts interesting, even if I disagree with most of them.
