For you or anyone as a provider/hobbyist/real world person I would recommend to no end READING as many books on the subject, watching as many instructional videos online and attending as many workshops/seminars as possible.

Knowledge and your mind will be your greatest sex toy and power in BDSM.

One of my favorite all-time movies and the ONLY major Hollywood movie (not talking Cinnemax B movies) that has been done on BDSM ever. A must watch for anyone interesting or even a tad curious about BDSM dynamics.

I own and have read all of these books, it's a good place to start. I would also recommend reading as many submissive/bottom books as well to better understand the psychology of submissives/slaves/bottoms.
