Default stings

Do stings tend to focus on FBSM providers or FS providers?

Way too generic of a question I think.

Some general thoughts:

1. As in all things, LE likes to go after the low-lying fruit. So AMPS, studios that have flashy signs, and strip clubs are easy targets. Also, from a political standpoint, closing down these targets makes an impact on the neighborhood, may get the cops some good press on the 10 PM news, and makes the community feel like the problem is being attacked.

2. Similar arguments are for 'red-light' districts where there are streetwalkers openly plying their trade, or perhaps brazenly advertising through open windows of a motel.

3. As far as FBSM or FS providers, not sure the level of service is what LE looks for. Question is more, who can they make an easier case against? Who is out there, in your face, if you will, that they want to make an example of.

4. FBSM have more ways to be targeted. LE can go after either FBSM or FS under prostitution laws. But the health department can also go after licensed FBSM for infractions regarding their license. (And if no license, they can also cite them for that.) So, an extra group of enforcement can target the FBSM.

5. As far as stings go, LE will often, via streetwalker decoys, and perhaps other less used methods like BP or CL advertisements, go after the johns. Attack the customer, and the market dries up and the providers move away.

Best bet for all here: SCREEN.

I basically screen any lady I see, by virtue of their reviews, etc. The lady screens us. A lady who does not use some type of screening is (1) putting herself at risk and (2) putting all of the guys she sees at risk.

Granted, some ladies have more subtle screening methods while others are more formal in their approach.

I know I did not answer your question directly, but maybe some food for thought?

That is very true.Le will go on Eros,CV and any other site they can. Some girls make it easy for them, because they don't screen or say way too much. And it doesn't have to be the unit that deals with prostitution, other units can also do stings in this same area.......drug enforcement has been known to go after providers in FL.

AMPS often get busted for giving a massage without a license. It's a class B misdemeanor, just like a first or second prostitution conviction.

Screening is great for peace of mind, but provides no real security. Don't think for a moment that anything you are looking for can't be created and pulled off flawlessly by LE. They've brought down far more intelligent and far more devious people than any of us.

Sorry, in Texas the first prostitution conviction is a class B misdemeanor. Numbers 2 and 3 are class A misdemeanors. Four and above are state jail felonies, 6 to 24 months in the state jail.

Which brings up the much, much bigger question . . . why is any of this still illegal, anywhere?

with FBSM a friend of mine has said that the word 'massage' is what gets you in trouble....might be why so many call them bodyrubs?? just a thought.

There are more learned than I, but in Texas, I do believe that with the definition of massage, trying to use terms like bodyrub will not be a valid defense.

One other point to understand. Maybe you have a valid defense. Maybe you beat the charges and get let go without a conviction on your record. But...

What if your family finds out? Your employer? Your neighbor? Your children's friends? Your church?

Escape conviction but deal with the divorce, the loss of your job, etc. Sure, they can't fire you if you aren't convicted, but they will find some reason.

Play it safe, screening is just one tool in the toolbox. Your sixth sense is another. I highly recommend reading some of the post by a member named Logan. He plays on the edge, the scary edge. But the information you can learn and apply to all phases of our little world out here can help immensely. It will hone your sixth sense to a level that just might save your hide one day.

True, but advertising bodyrubs raises the same flags to LE as the words escort or provider.
