If something happens, I'm thinking that the "right" thing to do is drive her to the clinic, pay the D&C fee, and make sure she gets home safely.

Some people say that it is the "woman's responsibility" to be on secondary birth control, like the pill. However, the law doesn't give a flying f*** whose "responsibility" it is... In the end, if its your kid... YOU are the one paying the child support.

Shell out the $400 for the abortion. Its cheaper than child support.

I have blown out more than one magnum condom with my ATF. If she said it was mine i would believe her.

I agree with Brittany. Bringing up a child in this sort of situation and even if you were to give the child up for adoption just leads to a lot of pain and suffering for everyone involved.

Pay to have the procedure done and get it over with. Read on the internet about stories with porn stars getting knocked up by mistake. Shit happens, that's life. Shouldn't be doing it if you don't want to deal with the outcome.

However if a provider came to me just randomly saying I knocked her up, I'd bail in a heart beat. "Hasta la vista!" I've seen guys taken for a ride when it wasn't even their kid.

If you are man enough to f**k her, ya gotta be man enough to suffer the consequences. In this case, worst case scenario, is child support (plus health care) for 18 (and depending on the state, maybe 22) years. Most states have child support schedules, but if you make more than that for which the schedules provide, the sky is the limit.

Ya dip your wick, ya take your chances.

I agree that you would be liable for child support. However, I would point out that this is contingent on the provider getting custody of the child. You might well have a fair chance at gaining custody yourself, especially if the girl is still working. Yes, it's a double standard to give it to a person who has a job, but patronizes prostitutes in preference to a woman who works as a prostitute full time, but I suspect that the hobbyist wins that custody battle more often than not if he's married and has a stable home life. Whether you want to take on the burden and responsibility of raising a child is of course a very individualized question that is highly dependent on individual circumstances. (As would, I suspect, Mrs. Hobbyist's attitude toward this new child in her home.)

Most everyone seems to assume that she'll want an abortion. What if Plan A is to have the kid she always wanted? She might even have whittled down her preferred donor based on such things as income, looks, gifts and talents.

(Brittany is running and screaming in the opposite direction).

CT2005!!!! ahhrgh! What woman in her right mind would want to get pregnant during a hobby session. (I'm not mad at you...the very thought of children makes me cringe.) A father is not just a sperm donor. I think having a baby by simply "picking out a donor" is doing a disservice to the child. Kids are a pain in the ass. They need an enormous amount of attention. Having both a mom figure and a dad figure allows for more than one person to shoulder the responsibility of bringing up a child. In the event that I chose to start a family, I want that kid to have a dad, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and amazing next door neighbors. That way, when I am about to wring the little shit-heads neck, someone can stop me.

I wholeheartedly agree with you!!! Kid(s) need a whole range of support systems. To borrow an old African adage, "It really does take a village."

My comment was more aimed at that dysfunctional person who might want a child in this manner, which is, of course, misguided.

There's a similar topic in the Austin coed forum (kindof a what if a provider got pregnant type of question) and I suggested the exact same thing. What if the father wanted custody and claimed that the escort wasn't fit to raise the child? Could happen.

Does anyone actually know of a case like this?

Curious.

There probably is such a case. However, a brief search turned up a number of cases referencing prostitutes, but they were mostly cases in which the State was trying to terminate parental rights or were trying to get jurisdiction over the kid(s) temporarily.

Search terms used: child custody prostitute

I'll probably get flamed for even suggesting some ladies may have this as a motivation, but some do. Very, very small %, but it is a fact.

But, both in the hobby and in civie life, always take personal responsibility for properly disposing of the used condom.

Seems a bit paranoid to me. First, I'm pretty sure I'm not the best looking or most talented guy she's been with. Second, I'm even more positive I'm not the richest. Finally, If any provider is crazy enough to actually want to get pregnant with me, then she'll have a helluva tough time getting child support from my hobby phone or p411 account.
