A friend of mine is trying to get their small business off the ground and currently money is a bit tight. I suggested that they do flyers, or contact one of those companies that have the little guys run around to malls, apartments etc and place flyers on cars and door knobs. I personally do not know anything about these type businesses but wondered if any of you could point to one that is fairly reasonable and reputable online?

In addition how about those guys who place the little yard signs everywhere, the kind you see like at an open house for a home.. ?

Anyway, all suggestions would be great.

I would say check out Vista Print - http://www.vistaprint.com

They have cheap printing, and in the business section have lawn signs and flyers as well as many other option.

The easiest way to save money for your friend, is for them to do the leg work themselves. Meaning place the signs and flyers, stand at busy street corners, etc. Paying a teen friend after school, or a relative is better than hiring someone else.

I know for example, the guys that stand outside apartment complexes make about 22 an hour to wave those damn "now leasing" signs.

Or those annoying coupon inserts/flyers that clog up my mailbox every week.

Check Craigslist Houston.
