You do realize he's been called by his FELLOW Soldiers/airmen he served and was a POW with, a "SONG BIRD" cause he spilt his guts to the Vietcong.. TO me that does not make him a war hero.. HELL if it was not for his daddy, covered for his ass, he wouldn't even have been IN THE AIR FORCE cause he would have flunked out...

Anecdotal tales regarding someone's activities from 50 years ago who may have an ax to grind politically are not "reliable" and ought not be the basis of dismissing his service. Surviving captivity IMO doesn't qualify someone as a "war hero," but his successful endurance of his demise while others sat on the bench should be recognized in a positive manner. I'm not a McCain fan, but I will give him credit where it is due.
I'm not sure where you get your comparison with the Air Force.
That familiar saying about "walking in someone else's moccasins" is applicable here.
