Not even that because you have states that would get fewer elecotral votes on a population weighed basis (at the very least ND, SD, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming)

Well it can work both ways. Obama could use a bill the Republicans really DO care about as a bargaining chip.

Obamacare did not help the Dems in the last election, so obstructing legislation the voters – by their votes asked for will turn things around for the Dems?

And how is he going to get that through the House -- where any money bill has to start. He doesn't even have control of the Senate -- despite ostensibly having 54 votes.

I didn't say it was a "uniform population weight".

What really hurt the dems was jobs, jobs, jobs more than anything else. I think that anyone who believes that Obama will sign a bill or bills that repeal the Healthcare Bill is deluded.

It's posturing, but the Reps are going to make sure the POTUS paints himself into a corner before the 2012 election.

Of course he won't. This is just another opportunity to get those sorry bastards on record as supporting that PoS.

That and it is satisfying a campaign promise to vote to overturn it. It further illustrates what is needed to change to get rid of it.

All of which leads me to believe goal #3 (no re-election of a Dem Prez) is REALLY goal #1. To return to my original point...even if Republicans HONESTLY believe that is what's best for us all...it give me a big ole case of the "sads" as it is says two more years of fiddle-fuck (until THEY can take REAL control and SAVE the rest of us from ourselves) is preferable to actually trying to accomplish something positive in the meantime...
