OOOPS! It’s a 3 game series now. Two in LA, and Kershaw will pitch in two of them if needed. And Bellinger has calmed down and found his swing. The Astros really needed this one. Morton pitched his ass off. But Snitchy was right. Astros have a suspect bullpen.

... and no one will know how the events of the day affected the outcome. It seems impossible that they didn't have some influence in the intensity, enthusiasm, and emotion that is needed when two similarly talented teams collide.

IMO the events of the day had an effect on their enthusiasm, focus, and emotion .... which is (and was) required when playing the Dodgers. The League didn't jam the Astros Team; their own player did.....even if unintended or simply thoughtless.

No matter about what: One doesn't make fun of opposition.

What events? I guess I missed something. Did an Astro player say something stupid?

The racial gesture thing from the prior game earned a 5 game suspension in 2018.

But the Astros' bullpen (Giles) lost the game.

I don't buy that for one second. So the pitcher that gave up the go ahead run and the following homer was distracted? Bullshit. This is like blaming a loss on a bad call in basketball. Bad calls happen all the time to both teams but the only ones that matter are the ones to the losing team.

As far as the bullshit going on and the 5 game suspension. That is PC gone crazy. Big fucking deal. The guy did nothing wrong and the fucking powers that be need to get off their high horse and shut the fuck up. I guarantee that some of the blacks in the locker room are high fiving their buddies and calling them *Staff Edit - JCM and nothing is ever said about that. This PC shit is absolutely ridiculous.

It wasn’t OK to make a racial reference, even though the Dodgers did the same thing In their dugout the same night.

But “one doesn’t make fun of opposition?”

What are you talking about?

The game was tied up at 1 going into the top of the ninth.

Giles lost the game....or better stated, AJ Hinch lost it by putting him in.

Giles lost his nerve with 2 outs and 2 strikes and 1 ball on a shitty hitter in the bottom of the 9th in game 2. He threw a close pitch that was called a ball and you could see his nerves flare. The stage is to big for him.

This loss had nothing to do with our first baseman antics from the night before.

As usual , you chime in after the event for your usual Monday morning QB'ing.

We will be in trouble if Dallas does not go deep in the game and we do not have a 2-3 run lead to work with. He will put Giles back in and Giles will blow it if he doesn't have a cushion.

Exactly...and Hinch should not have put him in the game.

We do not win today, we do not win this series.

I think we can win one out of two in LA but not 2 out of 2.

Who you got Snitchy? Kershaw vs Verlander. What a great matchup. It’s what it’s all about. As you said, Astros have to have this one. I was wrong last night. I thought Houston would win last night and lose tonight. Might be Kershaw year. I like LA tonight. Bellinger has settled down. His swing was much better last night. Puig is still out to lunch. They pitched to him last night with two on and 1st base open. They pitched to the next guy after Puig made an out. Fuck Puig.

Puigler?

The Carlos Gomez of the Dodgers.

It’s Kershaw vs Keuchel tonight last I heard.

Gotta win. So we will.

GO ASTROS.

The key to the Astros success is offense, and the pitcher only holds down the other offense. You neglect to factor in game 2 results. Besides .. if you go back and actually read what I posted you will see I said:

Even Budman!

And I added ...

Quote:

.. they (the Astros) were being asked about it right up to just before the game ... some remarks were broadcast ...

... If you actually believe one throws the switch and it's gone, .... you simply ignore reality.

Hitting is focus, enthusiasm, response, and strength.

So is pitching for that matter!

It's not making any "excuse" ... it's a negative distraction ... and it has an impact on mind-body coordination and the adrenaline necessary for the response.

Get your head out of a stats book and listen to the conversations about emotions, enthusiasm, rhythm, and focus (even in game 3 ... when the Astros got ahead by 4 ... there was discussion about the pitcher's mental processes when pitching.

Or just keep playing an electronic game of baseball!
