Default Colorado secession won't go away

The vote is coming. 11 counties in Colorado to vote on secession from Colorado (not the US idiots).

Their own State legislature will have to approve any attempt to break away, and then the US Congress.

That would have been like the originol 13 colonies having to get King George's permission to break away from England.

The movement might not go away, but at the same time, it isn't going anywhere either.

Why do they need permission of Congress? They would just petition Congress for statehood or some reasonable facsimile until statehood was granted. Just like all the other states in the last 150 years.

I think we are going to see much more of this. It is rare people give up power without a fight. I hope it doesn't become violent as the last vestiges of the old white America wake up and realize they are completely out of power, and have no chance of regaining it with the old ways where they were in charge as well as the main beneficiaries of the great wealth of America.
Those that adapt can thrive, some who don't want to conform may fight it, but they will probably see they are outnumbered at the ballot box, and have no chance of imposing their ways on the rest of us peacefully.
America has a great future as a multicultural society, our best days are ahead of us as we lead the world to a better model of sharing the wealth. Accept it and work together with your fellow Americans and you will ultimately see the benefit. If you fight it you will end up with all the other bigots in jail, or worse.

You think that Congress is going to grant Statehood to a bunch of former counties from some state?

Were you raised in Russia?

These rural counties feel they don't have a say in the way Colorado is run. Colorado's population is amongst the I-25 corridor with about 3MM in Denver and 1MM in COS/Pueblo areas. COS is pretty red with Focus on the Fam and other right wing nut jobs zealots.

I'm not sure what the correct answer is, but since squeaky wheel gets the oil, it may help the Republicants in the next Governor election.

They would get recognized because of their mineral wealth. If the US won't do it then the neighboring states can cut their own deal and I imagine that immigration would hit new highs.

It's going to fail because of water rights. The new state will not have any. All agreements with other states are held by Colorado. The breakaway area needs water but guess what they will have no means to get any. Look it up

They need permission because that is what the Constitution says. For a guy who pretends to be a defender of the Constitution from the commie hordes, you should maybe know a little more about it.

Article IV, Section 3:
--------------------------------------
"States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress."

You imagine a lot of things that have no basis in reality.

If they don't have permission of their own legislature AND Congress, they won't be "recognized" by anybody.

How exactly does another state cut a deal with a few counties that have no legal authority to act? How would they enforce one of those deals in court? What happens when Colorado cuts a different deal for that mineral wealth?

they would recognize you as an idiot.

still no answer as to how 11 counties would fund their new found statehood .. shall I wait or just recognize you're living in a libertarian pipe dream that has no answers ?
